I searched for an independent game, atypical and very difficult. I came across UNFAIR. I initially hesitated, but I bought it. What a nice surprise! The game is very cool. Here are some positives for those who hesitate: - The game is technical, and you will have to think sometimes before attacking. - It's relatively difficult at the beginning because you will have to improve your character with the accumulated experiences and fragments, it's a kind of currency to improve your statistics. - A peculiarity of the game is that if you are destroyed you will lose all your experiences and fragments, you will have to return to the place of your destruction to recover them and especially not be destroyed again in the meantime, otherwise they will be definitively lost. - Each enemy has his abilities and when you face different at the same time, it becomes very hard. - Finally, what I loved is the prism. When you bought it thanks to the fragments, you unlock a gauge. In short, if I understo...

About This Game

We are in the Aryonian year 4045 on planet Aryion, in the solar system Ferun 3. A developper has launched a very sophisticated program known as XNIRL.
This program was made for the most obsessed hardcore gamers who desire, above all, to face challenges.
Seeing the incredible success on his home planet, the developer decided to launch his game far off in the universe so that it may land on distant planets, where countless users can take part in the journey!
You will take control of Cubi, an evolutive program who must destroy the nasty main program OMEGA, before the red wave reaches the central core.
Earthling, are you ready for the challenges ahead?

Made by a lone developper, UNFAIR is a unique mix of shooter/rpg with top down view. A hard unforgiving game that will test your skills at all times!
Progression
- Upgrade Cubi using an RPG progression system. Spend your experiences and fragments in stats and skills and find increases, amplifiers and improvements in order to make him more powerful.Destruction
- Once Cubi destroyed, you will lose all unused experiences and fragments. You will have to return to the place of its destruction to recover them, if you are destroyed in the meantime, you will lose them permanently.Scenario
- Fun with programs that don't take themselves seriously. They will accompany you throughout the adventure.Contents
- Fight different programs (enemies and bosses) with each their own unique abilities and behaviors.- Explore XNIRL and search every nook.
- 3 different endings possible and 3 difficulty settings.
Gameplay
- Move around and use the basic abilities (shot, loaded shot, melee and dash) and the skills (stun, invisibility, shield and explosion) available to destroy your enemies.- Dynamic camera with the possibility of temporarily de-zoomed in order to better judge a situation and make up a strategy before going in.
- Unlock the energy prisms to go through destruction surfaces, resist enemy projectile or regenerate your life.
- Traps to dodge and phases of dexterity and analysis are also part of it.
- Mechanisms to activate or it will be necessary to be fast and to understand the meaning.

User Reviews
For people looking for challenges, this game is for you. An enjoyable story, and exhilarating and rewarding gameplay. I would also add that the developer is attentive and that the patches are fast and efficient.
Very nice game, quite challenging though. You can buy it without hesitation!
Well honestly, it's a really good game, I'm surprised it hasn't had more success. It's challenging... sometimes unfair :p
Take a top-down shooter, add RPG elements like stat management, throw in a hefty challenge, and sprinkle with amusing dialogues, and you-ve got UNFAIR! A special shout-out to the bosses, which are particularly well-designed!
UNFAIR is very demanding at first, as you familiarize yourself with the different game mechanics and understand the different enemy behaviors. You'll also need to be extra vigilant, as traps are scattered throughout the levels! Between moving traps, hidden traps and conveyor belts, there's plenty to do. One game mechanic I really loved was the life regeneration principle. Here, you don't need potions or other trinkets to heal yourself; you need to unlock the prism. This will allow you to build up a gauge which, when used, will regenerate a quantity of life points according to how full it is. However, as long as you have a little of this gauge, you'll only take 1 damage from enemy projectiles. So you'll have to choose between maintaining it or using it. There are also plenty of elements to progress your character, such as stats, skills and a sort of talent tree to make him more powerful, which is really cool.
A good game that mixes top-down shooters with RPG mechanics. The game is challenging, but when you succeed, it's really satisfying. The goal is to advance from zone to zone, where you'll find different enemies, bosses, puzzles, and lots of things to collect to increase the little cube you're playing. As for the story, it's a lot of fun, and you'll want to keep going to see what new punchlines the various protagonists come up with. All in all, it's a good indie game.
This game is hard, very hard. You progress slowly and with caution until you feel safe, start being uncautious and ... die miserably... But you don't feel angry because like all die and retry you progress each time a little bit more and it feels quite rewarding to upgrade the different stats and perks of your character. Now you know better, you are better and you start again ! For this price, I would recommend it to any player that can bear to not just automatically advance through story line. Just give it a try it' a great game fellows.
This game truly is hard and deserves its name: "UNFAIR". I'd recommend it to people who like the die and retry games, but it's not for me ^^
Surprised by the steep learning curve, which is very much welcome if you like hardcore games. Your patience will indeed be tested. Impressive work for a lone dev. The stripped visual style is pleasing and the controls are very fluid and responsive.
