Destroy... Absorb... Grow... GRIME is a fast and unforgiving Action-Adventure RPG in which you crush your foes with living weapons that mutate form and function, and then consume their remains with a black hole to strengthen your vessel as you break apart a world of anatomical horror and intrigue.
An unusual material collapses in on itself, the world shudders and contracts, and suddenly you are squeezed into existence.
What awaits you is a world unknown, alien in its own familiarity, and you must survive what terrors you face. Explore your surreal surroundings, absorb the many enemies you encounter, and use their own traits against them as you let yourself become far more than you once were.
GRIME lets you play to your preference, upgrading only those traits you feel most suited to your unique style. You’ll find there is more than one way to break open an enemy as you move through a variety of evocative environments, meet their inhabitants, and discover the source of their madness.
• Eye-Popping Surrealism - Uncover mysterious secrets in weeping caves and face-covered deserts. Meet otherworldly characters in distinct civilizations across an organic, interconnected world - all rendered in unearthly 3D. Face foes born of the world itself, and swallow them whole.
• Death-Defying Combat - Punish enemies by parrying their attacks, smash them from the ground or even airborne, and absorb them to grow your strength as you wage war on a living world.
• Living Weapons - Seamlessly swap weapons made of living creatures that mutate form during combat, from clawing swords to centipede whips.
• Unique Skill Progression - Hunt down and absorb challenging monsters to improve your skills and bring true customization to your play style.
• Challenge Menacing Bosses -Defeat creatures dozens of times your size. Adapt to their strategies, withstand their assault, and consume them to gain game-changing abilities that affect both combat and traversal.
• Colors of Rot - Discover new abilities, new weapons, and new enemies that are champing at the bit just to get a piece of you. Explore Childbed and discover the horrifying mysteries that lie within.
• New Game Plus - Old foes challenge you in new ways. Surpass your limits and upgrade weapons and traits with infinite progression. Find and fight a formidable secret boss.
• Ever-Evolving Expansions - Return to the depths of GRIME with 3 DLC expansions that mutate the world around you. New abilities, bosses, enemies, and undiscovered truths await you in this writhing, growing, desolate deathscape.

Literally the best Metroidvania I've ever played, including Hollow Knight. I can't recommend it enough. Although it can be punishing in terms of run-backs and traversal in general (at first), It's extremely polished and incredibly fun. Plus the 2nd game is on its way and looks great too. 10/10
Awful art design, and the deflect is so broken that you just end up abusing it to kill everything faster and easier. Definitely overrated.
Really fun game, varied choice of weapons and abilities. I found the absorb/deflect (parry) mechanics easier than in other games which was very satisfying. Interesting levels and some bosses were challenging but not too challenging. I don't often play NG+ but I finished NG+ on Grime, founding playing through again with all abilities a real power trip and it was very fun! A lot of care and attention has gone into this game and a really high quality metroidvania!
Had a lot of fun with this. Just a really solid soulsvania with a focus on parrying and surprisingly good platforming. Also works good on the deck just be sure to disable the touchscreen as unfortunately grazing it causes your controller to completely turn off and the game only accepts keyboard input If you want to disable the touchscreen on the deck specifically for this game do the instructions below. Just copied it from reddit. I'd link it instead but steam is weird about that in reviews. What you need to do is to go to your controller settings, then to the Action Sets section where you should have just the "Default" one. Tap the cog icon and select "Add Always-On command". Then you tap on the (greyed out) box that says "Add command" and you'll get the big menu with all the command types. The right-most section would be "System". There you'll look for a box that says "Touchscreen off'. Select that, apply, save and restart the game. No more issues.
Loved the play style and parry system, movement areas were a little frustrating but I might just be bad. Art's beautiful and the story's alright.
Amazing in every aspect: Graphics and Art Style, are absolutely gorgeous and almost made me tear up at times Lore and Characters, is confusing at first but it gets clear the further you progress Movement, Combat and Abilities, are satisfying, easy to learn but hard to master Bosses and Elite Foes, are fair and balanced, nothing crazy and the backtracking is not as bad as in other games Weapons and Armor, there are SO many ways to play this game.. So I will be playing it again with another build if I finish this gem of a game. I'm in love and haven't felt as rewarded for passing "this one boss" or "that one passageway". Thank you dear developers for making this masterpiece!
This is an incredible game with great music, gameplay and atmosphere. This game also has NG+ that gives special attacks to base enemyes and new attacks and phases to bosses, with a new boss (the most awesome boss in this game). If you like metroidvania this game is a must have.
This game rocks. Literally everything just rocks. Mom is rock, sister and brother rock. Hit rock with rock. Rock hit you with rock. All around ooga booga good time. UnGravel the mystery the mystery behind your existence. Become the ultimate Rock star. Peak gameplay. 10 of 10. Don't pass up this gem.
A wonderful metroidvania game with a slight learning curve, and I finally got all achievements!!
