As much as I want to recommend this game, I sadly cannot. Lesson learned, never buy Atelier day one, wait for DX version

MY feelling after I bought this game 2 mouth ago and just have time to play yesterday knowing DX is coming soon....... WT....F!!!!

Now lets start by saying my opinion on the game isn't bad. In fact the game is really good. The crafting system is really deep and you could spend hours trying to craft the exact item to the exact specifications you want. The combat is a little repetitive, but its a refreshing take on typical JRPG style combat that I haven't seen all that much before. The reason I don't recommend buying this is because the DX version of the game will be coming out in October, and this version and support for it will disappear from the Steam Store. So if you really have your heart set on this game, wait until the DX versions of Atelier Ryza 1, 2, and 3 launch in October and buy it then. Don't buy now, and wait for the definitive version.

What was the point of the upgrades last year if you were just going to DX them? I'm very casual when it comes to these games, could have beaten them by now if I was serious. However no upgrade or even a discount for previous owners? Now I don't even want to return to yumia because that will probably have a DX in the future. While I'm here... re-release the dynasty warrior gundam games.

What a cozy JRPG game! The game starts at a slow pace. The synthesis system is not perfect and it can be confusing sometimes due to the UI. They will be releasing DX version of this Ryza trilogy and there will be QoL changes. I enjoy the story and my overall rating is 8/10. Much play and she's thicc

(Consider getting on sale or wait for the DX version) Fantastic game. The story is superb. The music is heavenly. The game-play is fun. The progression is substantial. The characters are well-written. I am still unlocking new game-play 45+ hours in. There is a steep learning curve for the battle and alchemy system, I looked on YouTube for tutorials and that helped. Very fun once you get it! You may find normal too easy, so there are harder difficulties to try. I don't understand the criticism of bland story or too short. This game feels HUGE. And I keep coming back for the story, music, and game-play!

6-7/10, alright, if somewhat underwhelming, casual game. The main pull is the crafting system, which, I feel needs the clarification in that this is not in the sense that it is _complex_ (like what you would see any factory game where you have to process raw materials into increasingly complicated component chains), but rather that the process of crafting itself is a bit more involved than just collecting all input materials and clicking a button. Every craft can be thought of as its own skill tree that you fill out with various items to affect the final result. That is not to say that there is no complexity to crafting, i.e., making more complicated components from less complicated ones - there is - but the game rather quickly gives you a way to remove that concern before it becomes relevant. There is some depth to the crafting like the traits you want on the items, the quality of the results, and it can be interesting to some to obsess over what is the best way to craft some of...

A bright game which I find uplifting and relaxing, the soundtrack is great and the game play is rewarding. The battle system can be turn based if you are attentive or your companions will fight for you if you do nothing. lots of stories about friendship and relationship building, also about responsibility within society. Very well written.
