There is a lot to like about Treasure Fleet, as it builds upon the legacy of Sid Meier's Colonization. I personally like how the game puts more emphasis on naval ships and actually makes building a fleet of them much more practical then it ever was in Colonization. The idea of the supply mechanic does well to make exploring much more of a risk/reward thing where there can be consequences - especially when things go awry and your horses are stolen under you! However, at the same time there is also quite a bit of game mechanics that just don't feel like they work all that well, feel cheap, or are a direct downgrade with Sid Meier's game. There is also a lot of quality of life features you might expect from other 4X titles to be here as well but are yet absent. For some example: -You can attack with troops directly from ships onto land (Developer notes this is somewhat done to help the AI attack Settlements since you can't block off the coast from them) -You can trade with natives and ...

About This Game
As you establish settlements, colonists or hired craftsmen can be brought in to work the land and generate trade goods that can be sold for profit in your home country. There are over 30 building types, from factories that attract trade with the natives, to forts or armories to build up the defense of your colonies. Explore terra incognita and visit native villages, find ruins hidden in the wilderness and search for treasures, and ultimately discover the fabled El Dorado.
Build up garrisons of professional soldiers to defend from hostile natives and wage war with other European powers that your country is at war with. Eventually, you can declare independence and win the war against the expeditionary force your king will send to crush your rebellion.
Key features:
- Procedurally generated map that provides a unique experience each new game
- A living world with different native cultures, foreign colonies and pirates
- Choose your own goals, you can focus on exploration, trade or conquest
- Your King will give you missions and offer rewards if completed successfully
- New ship types become available as the game progresses
- Develop your colonies with over 30 building types
- Each country you choose to play with has unique bonuses

OLD SCHOOL TURN BASED STRATEGY GAME WITH STEEP LEARNING CURVE This game is a true breath of fresh air from the past. It's reminiscent of old Civ games. Basic interface but deep mechanics underneath. While it does have a steep learning curve (reading the intro and then going to the in-game wiki is a MUST) after 10 hours or so and a dozen reloads you get the hang of it and you're having a blast setting up cities, cranking out produce and building your army. Some may complain about the poor graphics and unfinished feel. True, this is the first impression. But after a while I found the interface quite service-able and that's enough for me. Besides, this allowed a 1-man startup to implement a ton of mechanics that AAA products need an army of programmers and artists to build. Enjoy and save often!
This is my intial review of this game so bare with me. The game has immense potential if there where some simple changes, like the possibility to fulfill the royal missions and therefore not pissing off the King, a bit easier to find land (it took me years to find land only to loose my ship from lack of supplies so maybe more supplies the initially), less severe weather. I sincerely hope the developer dont get disappointed with this review but see this as a spur to develop the game since I love colonization games and it's a gengre that is sorely lacking in games.
In short... I enjoyed the game and it is fairly similar to Civilization IV: Colonization. It is very playable, but there are certain things like a missing in-depth description and few minor bugs to look out for. But is it worth the full price? Maybe half of it... get it on 50%-70% sale. Unless you choose to pay the full price and support the developer and the future fixes. Up to you.
It a nice game but still not ready there to many feature and ui that suppost to be there but are not hopefully this get fixed, 1 exampel that that anger me alot is that soldier can lose there musket when they get attacked or attack, the problem is if you not carefull attack nativ/other colonys loose 50% attack dmg that include defens too, this feature suppost to be explained but it isnt and it ui suppost to be big enought so you can see it clearly but you dont you must look/see super good so the soldier doesnt lose musket. Other thing the nativ are pain in a** since all bunch a**hol* and do as they like give you stuff/attack/steal/demand and diplomacy dont work is just you take money from them until they get angry, you give them money and gona be nativ from same tribe gona attack you anyway, so it almost sad that auto you have kill them all. Game is annoying at the end need be fixed before it can be fun.
it wouldn't open even when it said it was open 🚓🚗🚕🛺🚙🚌🚐🚎🚑🚒🚚🚛🚜🦽🦼🚲🛵🏍🏎 It is worth getting though if you think it's your cuppa tea maybe it will work idk
This is extremely similar to conquest of the new world. I'd swear its the same game engine. Ok I loved that other game, still have it, still play it, it runs in Dosbox. This has a few differences, and over all seems to be fun. The Draw backs are lack of being being to customize the game. I Finally had a good start in a game, getting somewhere, and poof the end game screen summery comes up. No reason for that, should be able to play much further into the game. Few annoying things, clearing out menus that come up, have to hit the little x or esc. Cannot just click off on the background screen. Steep learning curve, but fun. The random events are a bit extreme. Given how limited the production lines are, having tornadoes wipe out your warehouse you just spend an hour building, sucks. The Building roads thing, needs work. Your standing outside of city that makes tools, and instead it wants tools from a city far away, Bogus. All in all its fun, but needs some polish to make...
Game is fun, but the mission system needs serious tweaking. Early on it is near impossible to complete most of them in time.
Like some1 else on here mentioned : "it wouldn't open even when it said it was open" Even though the game is only 5 bucks, I still refunded. Don't sell games that don't work.
Love this little gem of a game, it gives me strong Imperialism 2 vibes. Worth every cent.
