I was lucky enough to get to beta test this game. I've played it all the way through from start to finish and I really enjoyed it. It's important to mention that mechanically, this game is far simpler from a combat perspective than similar looking "early Final Fantasy" style games. Less character classes, less spells, etc. That said, the story and the *really* amazing music make up for it in spades. The end of the game requires a bit of grinding, but it doesn't feel like a chore. It took me 30 hours of game time to beat it, but being a completionist I ground up to max level before going after the final boss. I'm sure you can do it in less time than I did. :) My only piece of advice for you is to save The Trial of the Ancients until after you are able to consistently beat all of the monsters in the Zealous Core. If you like early Final Fantasy style JRPG games, you'll love this. Also, did I mention that the music is amazing?

About This Game
The villagers of Cenama are disappearing one by one and King Balthazar sends you on a mission to find out what is going on. This mission turns out to reveal that a great evil is threatening not only planet Turrin and Cenama, but the universe as a whole.
Travel through Sonaii, The Ancient Ruins, Kaanami, The Grim Grotto, Orc Encampment, Jura Plantation and many other areas to progress and find out why people are vanishing, and if there is a way you can stop it. If your heart is pure enough to overcome the Trial of the Ancients, and you have gained enough to power to slay the enemies in the mystical Zealous Core, maybe you have what it takes to go to the Black Castle and put an end to the growing darkness that is enshrouding Turrin.

The debut game of PelleK's Ninja Academy makes you wait for what's next to come. Definitely a great retro RPG with early Final Fantasy games vibes. I started playing the game and got hooked so fast. And of course there is a reason why. A lovely story with the amazing music make you addicted in a flash. Pros -Beautiful music -Nice story to follow -A vast world to explore at your liking Cons -There were some minor problems with the text -Simple mechanics (not exactly a con but surely it could be better) Great experience, worth spending some time trying it and a must for the fans of these kind of games.
Retro vibes coming right at you! Really fun game, unfortunately not for me. I am not the "love pokemon and zelda" type of guy. If you enjoyed them you're likely to do it with this game. Works probably better with a pad. Controlling with a keyboard or mouse was so confusing for me. Few small bugs, but that doesn't change much.
Legend of Cenama is a fun-loving and free-spirited throwback to initial Final Fantasy games. On that note, stark similarities are apparent throughout. Not least so, when it comes to core systems and mechanics. Though that may be true, Legend of Cenama can announce its arrival on the RPG genre with plenty of pride. Mainly, thanks to its swirling story, imaginative world-building concepts, and a genuinely mesmeric OST. In what is a faithful homage to the classic RPGs of old. But also, it draws upon elements from many popular games such as Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and Shining Force. Legend of Cenama is an action-adventure RPG played from the overhead perspective. Kind of what nostalgic genre-buffs refer to as a traditional, top-down, turn-based RPG. Very much a retro-styled game, in all but a few aspects. Additionally, the visuals go some way in complimenting this format. One element that genuinely shines out is the graphics. For me, the vibrant 2D textures and vivid character sprites a...
First Impressions: I've gotten to play this game a couple of hours now and I am enjoying my self. It brings back memories of the old RPG style games, the esthetics are really nice and makes you feel like you are playing an old RPG. Would totally recommend this game if you've got a couple of hours to kill! And i will keep playing the game and make a better review at a later date.
I know this game is praised for the different stories and endings, but for me, I just love the farming and grinding for rare weapons and nodes, fossils, and with the cosmos patch, even divinity or other fragments. i think the game will be even better with the new nataana patch we've been promised too, because i feel like the game has potential for even more end game content. If 1000 people enter the cosmos of the indomitable the ancients say they will open the portal to nataana, so I guess that means when 1000 players reach max level and power, there's a new update. i cant wait to see what it will bring. thanks for a great game. hope the patch comes soon.
I don't usually review games unless they really stand out but Legends of Cenema is really nice take on a classic JRPG-like game. The mechanics are simple and take a lot of cues from classics like the early Final Fantasy games. I’ve always loved games like that and so it’s always a treat to find a new one that does the formula justice. The game’s story isn’t groundbreaking but the execution is superb. The whole world is full of quirky characters, with humor adding to the world’s charm. The graphics also really augment this but they can feel a bit rough sometimes. The music in this game is absolutely brilliant and makes the experience so much better. Legends of Cenema can be really tough at times and the lack of guidance can make things confusing sometimes. However, this really makes finally figuring out how to succeed more rewarding. The game is difficult but it manages to do this without ever feeling unfair. There are a few minor issues with the game, however. The mechanic...
Fun gameplay with a compelling story. Overall a very enjoyable experience. A must buy if you like the rpg's like the first few Final Fantasy games. Also the music in this game is amazing.
This game is still full of glitches, and not easy whatsoever, if you like grindy RPGs then be my guest. But this game appears to be made with a bunch of cookie-cutter characters, and frankly nothing is stopping you from running away from combat just to progress the story, and then ending up severely under-leveled to take on the next boss and then realize it's too late you cannot return to the previous area to train up. I thought this game was going to be more of an open-world where you would be free to explore the previous area after defeating a boss, but sadly that was not the case, and the quality of the game really isn't worth the price. If the developers were to update the game and make some improvements i would be willing to try it out again.
If you enjoy good old 16-Bits JRPGs, you will love this game. It kinda reminds me of Breath of Fire, one of the last games of its kind I played on Super Nintendo. Since Role Playing takes a lot of time, and I have a full time job now, I don't play them as often as back when I was a student, but sometimes I just happen to start playing one to remind me why I loved Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger and so many other great adventures on SNES. The battle system may not be very fun to the modern users, and the characters may look a bit too static, but this game is a throwback to the early 90's where imagination also played a part, since there were many hardware limitations. And I have to mention, that the music is pretty well done, full nostalgia with the chiptunes here. If you're a Retro Gamer fond of early Square, Enix, Capcom RPGs and such, you may just end up spending lots of hours with this one. PS: there are some pretty funny character dialogues XD
