Well, if you played the previous games and thought there would be improvements on this one, you'll be rather disappointed... First off, level design tends to be is really poor. It doesn't feel you're progressing as you clear levels. Layouts are not so inspired or clever, though there are exceptions. It is really easy to get yourself killed by getting out of camera range and so on. Furthermore, constant sidescrolling segments and tons of enemies that shoot homing missiles give a sense that this game is about luck, not skill. FPS levels are horrible. Seriously, they're near unplayable if you play with a joystick. Graphics are ok. I think they fit really well with the theme. The only problem is that sometimes it is not clear if enemies can be stomped or not. Also, in some levels, the amount of glowing, moving stuff in the background makes the level harder than it should be. The level selection screen is confusing as hell. Whoever designed that must have failed all HCI exams... There...

Hard & fun platformer, innovative new gameplay elements, but overall the first ESJ is better.

Twice the joy! I loved the first game. Groove City was fine. This one has some cool ideas and overall is very enjoyable experience. I still do not understand how the base of this game which includes most of the levels is FREE. I hope we will see ESJ 3 one day. I bought both "DLCs", since I want to support the developers and in my opinion, the content is worth it.
