there's so many issues with this game. boring questlines, a tedious gameplay loop, combat that's both laughably easy and painfully repetitive... and yet, i just can’t bring myself to dislike it. there's just something about yoko taro's work, a feeling which i don't think can be put into words, that truly makes these games a one of a kind thing. incredibly flawed, but unforgettable in a way few other games ever manage to be

please come enjoy this suffering which ripped out my heart and curb stomped it. it´s great i promise, have since bought the game for every available platform
Too old for this. Never liked consoles and after forcing completion of the sequel - I should have known better. Kids that grew up with this before they were old enough to have an expanded library of experience will argue all day and night these are the greatest deepest experiences you can find in games. For them - they are right. I just can't slog through anymore - I just don't have any nostalgia to fuel it. Program runs fine - never an issue. Music loops without regard to activity - only location. Game play switches from classic third person to 2d DonkeyKong and top down 'whatever you'd call that' to give players the complete console experience. I paid for it, I have my opinion - you all have yours.
Banger soundtrack and no 2B ASS. Just straight up a beautiful game! We also need that other PS3 game on modern platforms... Mommy Zero ✌
NieR:Replicant feels like a weird stage play of a video game. The parts are there, the characters emote, there is things that make it look like a game and there is a story. But everything is just weirdly off, and not in a very interesting way. Top that with a crazy 60€ price tag for an okay port of a really old game. The whole first act feels like an eerie hommage to Zelda, complete with the animation when the Prince receives the item, almost like a jab at the generic fantasy RPG village beginnings. The neverending back-and-forth for insanely dull main and side quests feels like some kind of subversive critique of bland gameplay. Characters join your party, you do one thing together and suddenly there is a huge dramatic scene where emotions overflow and the characters swear eternal allegiance to each other in the name of their unbreakable friendship. As if the script writer just tossed the whole intermittent part between beginning and end of the act out the window, which seems like...
i just didnt like it, i bought the game after playing automata and it was just worse than i expected. story didnt hit, it is well written but the videogame format didnt really enhance it for me. if this was a book it would be better in my opinion. i can see why for some people it is a positive and emotional experience but personally i just couldnt bring myself to get that attached to the game
I loved Nier: Automata so I wanted to give this one a try. Big mistake. The game play is so boring it feels like a chore to play. Not worth it. Wish I could get a refund.
I wish the story of this game made the atrocious and mind numbing gameplay worth the price. Just play automata instead
dated gameplay but incredible story probably only play if you love nier automata main character just as sexy (once he grows up)
if you like: a.) fantastic scores b.) pretty, charming locales c.) writing that is just as likely to depress you, as it is to throw you into an existential crisis, or make you choke on your own laughter d.) cute, gay robot (emil, my beloved,, ,, ,) e.) actually extremely well-done intersex representation f.) fantastic voice acting and direction from all of the main cast this game is for you!! only two gripes with this game do i hold (repetitive backtracking + a somewhat shallow combat loop makes traversal between areas/objectives a little less fun), but they are both pretty minor in comparison to the things i like. :3
