I’m a sucker for dystopian storylines so OMNIMUS grabbed me with it’s story taking place in a future where the world has collapsed and power has been transferred from governments to corporations. You play a character who has waken up from a coma and offered the chance to take part in an experiment that takes place in a virtual world to help heal your physical body. As the testing continues you start to notice that you may be lied to but the question is by who and who to trust ? There is a great set of characters that are decently fleshed out. You really aren’t given any concrete info on who is the hero, villains etc. It all depends on who you believe and your perspective. I like this as sometimes you have things laid out a little to nicely and neatly. The intro, which is a compilation of news casts over time that show the collapse of the world, was fantastic and a great way to start the game. The soundtrack is also well done. There were a few choices that would end up with your ...

About This Game
Omnimus is an interactive visual novel in an unusual setting (a mix of science fiction and fantasy) that allows players to directly influence the development of its plot.
Most states did not survive the third world war. The borders between them were erased, and a unified form of government was established on the planet - corporatocracy, which put power over people in the hands of cold-blooded boards of directors of transnational companies.
The bloody war left a heavy mark on the body of mankind, creating millions of useless cripples, one of which is the hero of this visual short story.
In the post-war reality, people like him have no future. Nevertheless, he is given a unique chance - to start all over again in the experimental version of virtual reality full immersion.
Involuntarily, he becomes a participant in an ambitious experiment. In the beginning, everything is going well, but gradually the events begin to take on a completely unexpected turn.

- player decisions have consequences
- two romanceable characters
- several endings
- beautiful CG and author's music

For 2$ it was worth it, the concept is rather interesting. Even if somewhat unsubtle about certain economic ideas some audiences may notice. Though in the future I'd like to see more from the devs, just three things. 1. The art here is what you'd expect for a 2$ game, though for anything more. Improved character sprites would be a plus. 2. The most obvious thing, a longer story with more choice would be nice. 3. It'd be nice to see the more subtle Telltale style choices that are more unknown effects, then having the choices basically explain how it impacts the story very obviously. Give the players hooks to bite to see a story they as a consequences of their choices, and less of a choose your own style.
It’s a decent story, that starts a bit slow. But it seems that you can only unlock the romances, if you have ticked all the boxes with each candidate. If you deviate from picking a side, you won’t get there. I also could have used more save slots. After reaching the end, I couldn't explore that many previous paths. As I had overwritten most.
Short but great story. Would buy more if there more of such VNs :) .
An immersive experience in some ways into simultaneous worlds of virtual reality, infirmity, romance, and a dystopian (but alarmingly realistic) future. While annoying at first, the intro and sound actually contribute to the feeling so bear with them at least once. I havent completed the full story yet, though i died twice in plausible and disastrous ways. The interface is very simple: click for next text snippet, click a multiple choice, or type something. Graphics are simple but nicely drawn anime with minimal movement and some decent sound effects - the main action is in the text. The text is full of relevant literary references, with slight hints of the writers' non-english origin hidden among the occasional typo. The only annoyance i encountered so far is there are merely 6 save slots; you have to re-use them judiciously because even if your memory is up to recalling all the smaller decision points in a textual maze you will have to replay significant portions of the story t...
It's a great game but it's very short. Well it's pretty cheap so what would I even expect? lol. It's a good game with good sprites, special effects, great story, good writing, some deep social commentary, and a great premise. I wish it was longer but whatever it was a good experience. For the price, I recommend buying it anytime you want, setting aside around two hours and playing it in one sitting. I played it in multiple sittings and I think that made it less immersive.
This novel is very short but interesting and with awesome music! Each of both girl has a different temperament but I won't write with spoilers!
