Champions moves is an excellent addition to the Zen Chess universe. In this delivery we find 150 games carefully selected by the editor, which have as a common factor to be beautiful combinations executed by chess world champions. By far this, the selection of games, is what gives more value to the game. Really an excellent collection of games, most famous, where you must decipher fantastic attacks carried out by each and every one of the world champions, including pseudo champions aswell. From Steinitz, Lasker, Capablanca and Alekhine, through Botvinnik, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky and Fischer to Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik, Anand and Carlsen. A journey through the history of chess from the end of the 19th century to the present day. Logically, due to its style of play, exercises of some champions such as Kasparov, Karpov, Tal and Carlsen are more common than those of the rest. The game is designed to reject any move other than the one made in the game in question and the author h...

I love the concept but the implementation is...distinctly subpar. There clearly is no chess engine here; any piece may move to any space (though you will fail the puzzle for it, because that's not the recorded move). Incorrect moves don't show you why they're wrong; you simply fail the puzzle. The interface is pretty but taxes patience. A better chess nerd than I will probably find this more enjoyable, but this game isn't for someone interested in chess who's not already expert.
pro:Makes u feel like a champion when u answer correctly Nice music con:U can make illegal moves(most by accidently) sometimes like mate in 4 moves, I dont know how but the puzzle is already over 7/10
What can i say, i liked Zen chess mate in 1, 2,3 and 4 moves. For 0.51 cents on sale i would say this a good deal on Zen Chess Champion moves. But i feel as if there are too many errors in the chess moves. On board #47 there is an illegal move made by the game. You can not put the kind in check but that is what it did. There are several boards you can finish with better moves but the game is inflexible. It feels wrong some how. Or maybe my chess skill is too high as the game is not really a challenge for me. I feel that this game is a miss somehow, it should of been better. But then again for 0.51 cents on sale I should not complain. The only feeling is that this could of been a great game if the developers care enough. Buy at your own risk.
I'm a big fan of the Zen Chess series and this new game has come up with another very interesting challenge, "try" to think like a master chess player! Highly recommended for those who want an extra challenge in the world of this great game.
In 'Zen Chess: Champion's Moves' you will be put in the position of a World Chess Champion. You will need to play through historical games and solve the same chess problems the champions had to solve to win each game. PROS - Simple to play; - Great concept; - A good game for your memory; - Beautiful designed chess board; - 150 different puzzles; - 15 achievements; - Famous chess quotes; - Promoting chess on Steam; - Relaxing music; CONS - There isn't a reset button; - You can do impossible moves (there isn't a chess engine); - Not for begginers (I would recommend to play the Mate in One, Two, Three, Four series first); - There are multiple puzzle errors: Puzzle 47:
After Bxf7+, black plays Kxf7 and not Kd8.
Puzzle 100:
The white pawn on e5 should actually be white so you could be able to resolve that puzzle.
- There are description errors: Puzzle 112:
Rb7 move is actually mate, but the description says: '' Salomor Flohr resigns''...
Great addition to Zen Chess series. That has started with mate in one simple puzzles and naturally evolved to mate in 2, 3 and 4. And now it brings as a novelty great moments of chess history for enthusiasts. This game keeps its minimalist approach with extra value. Recommended.
Puzzle 47 has an error with an illegal move. I think I've noticed errors in the puzzles before also.
Fun
Put yourself in the shoes of the great chess players and make those same last moves that were decisive for the victory of the game. It is a very interesting experience, even more you try to compare it with the move you would try to make in that situation. It helps to improve your game decisions.
