Yakuza 4 is where the series starts getting bold with its structure, and for the most part, it pays off. It moves away from the Kiryu-only formula and splits the story between four playable characters. Each one gets their own arc, then everything gets tied together at the end. You actually end up liking all four protagonists imo. Kiryu is already a given, but the rest of the crew hold their own in a way that really surprised me. This is also one of the easiest games in the entire series in terms of difficulty if you care about that, it mostly comes down to it's extremely streamlined upgrade system compared to the earlier entries. Akiyama became one of my favorite characters. His kicks-only approach is fast and flashy, kind of like if Sanji from One Piece ran a loan company. His light attacks are hard to block since it has so many hits to them but they don't do much damage, he's also very limited when it comes to combos. Most of his Heat Actions have really specific triggers, so you’...
⚔️ Yakuza 4 Remastered - Unveiling Kamurocho Drama
What I Played: Spent around 150 hours diving into the intertwining stories of a loan shark, a death-row inmate, a corrupt cop, and the iconic yakuza Kazuma Kiryu in the bustling streets of Kamurocho. The Good:

The narrative depth in each character's journey grabbed me—emotional highs and intense showdowns kept me hooked.
The side content is where it's at—darts, karaoke, managing hostess clubs; the city is a treasure trove of activities.
The Bad:

Wish there were more save points; replaying long sequences after a tough boss fight got a bit tedious.
Certain mini-games felt like filler; could've used more variety in side activities to spice things up.
Verdict: Recommended - Yakuza 4 Remastered packs a punch with its gripping storylines, diverse gameplay, and improved visuals. If you're a fan of the series or love a good action-adventure...
The girls in this part make me want to kill myself disgusted but story its good
I was hoping this would be better than Yakuza 3, but nope. Clunky repetitive combat. Constant blocking (nothing makes you feel like a badass Yakuza more than prison guard underling #4 blocking every attack and flying around the arena like he's Jackie Chan). Random and insane difficulty spikes after being snore level easy. Graphics barely look better than three and for a "remaster" frankly unacceptable. Story is unfocused and meanders and just when I get invested in the first character it jumps to the second. This is easily worse than 3. At least 3 had those lovely bits on Okinawa. Yakuza 4 has none of the magic of 0, either Kiwamis, or the Like a Dragon series. I couldn't finish this, just feel like I'm wasting my time. I hope 5 is better.
it's good
Yeah yeah Kiryu is cool and all but AKIYAMA. Also love how big everyone's hands are in the PS3 trilogy. Throwing hands? Nah throwing MEAT HOOKS.
played on gamepass ages ago, bought it on here just to replay it and 100% it, good yakuza to get introduced to gameplay wise, less guard spammy than y3 to some, i'd argue the game gives just enough time for each character to get enough xp to unlock abilities that show off the different combat moves, personally i find Saejima a bit jarring to get used to everytime, i dunno. 's good, get it on sale, akiyama my goat
you gotta go balls out
Garbage game, so far the worst Yakuza game. The story is so stupid it seems it was written by a five year old kid, not only is it bad enough you have to go through it once, since you play with different main characters the stupidity gets repeated over and over again. Sub-stories are mostly boring, very very few of them are actually interesting or funny. Combat is garbage probably the worst part of the game, not only is it bad, but the bosses design is just stupid, constant defending, can attack anytime, can't grab them, have attacks to stun you, you can't defend half of their attacks, mostly just need to bash attack in hopes of dealing damage, since strategies against them don't work. If you are interested in the game, watch a youtube video with the story and move on.
I think Akiyama and Kiryu play the best. Saejima took a little while to click but once it did, I managed to land combos properly. Not a fan of the cop, he plays fine, I think his heat moves often ending in him arresting someone is interesting, but other than that he doesn't have much going for him. Ending's interesting, each character has a boss fight, it's cool.
