The original is an amazing game. This edition - not so much. It boats with "enhanced" controls and visuals, yet the "updated" visuals look so, so bad - all blurry and hard to digest. Looks more like a downgrade for me. The new controls also are bad. I was expecting something like an action wheel that Full Throttle had to replace the numerous action buttons, but no, the "enhanced" controls do not have that. There is an addition of skip dialogue button, but it's another disappointment: instead of skipping just one line, it skips the whole dialogue. Furthermore, if you happen to click the skip button while hovering over some active spot, in addition to the skip action, the usual right-click-action-on-hotspot would trigger. The good thing is that most of the "enhancements" can be disabled. But you know what, the original Flight of the Amazon Queen is available for free for a long while and can be downloaded at ScummVM site. That ScummVM itself can be used to run the game - it would offer...

This is a very BAD, BAD, BAD porting of the original game. I have tried this game on different computers, with last video drivers. No music in the game menu (as in the smartphone version), the graphic is very bad and strange, the controls are very bad, often the cloud save delete save slot, there are not achievements, there are only seven slots for save.

This is a classic adventure released in 1995, altough you not have to expect something like an RTX remaster in graphics, the improvements are noticeables and much appreciated compared to the old pixel graphic style. As always, like in any graphic adventure, the main focus goes to the puzzles and i can say that here we have very good ones, the level of difficulty is average, with few spikes on hard on some of the latests, but most of them are quite logic. Personally i don't like the hot spots revealer function, because i think the pixel hunting is a part of the difficulty of an adventure so this will help a lot, but it seems is a new tendency of many modern adventure games now. As an optimization in this new version i would have appreciated is if there could have been the option of fast travel inside a location, sadly you have to walk all around the way to the exit, while an instant exit to the next location with a double click would have been awesome. In the sound options i recommend ...

This so-called "25th anniversary" is lacking, I was unimpressed about it. Otherwise, there's nothing more a slightly tweaked freeware game. I had (apparently unrealistic) hopes for an improved interface, because it just isn't there. The graphics are similar, the controls felt actually worse than what I played in the past. The core of the original game is still what it was 25 years ago, nothing wrong with the core game. Is it worth the tiny price to pay? Sure, for people who struggle to install SCUMMVM on their own and for having this game in your steam library.

For being the 25th Anniversary Edition, the UI is very twitchy. Some of that is just the counter-intuitive design of some of these older adventure games, but it feels like there could have been more polishing in this remaster. In particular, allowing you to speed up the walking animation would have been a huge quality of life improvement. The storyline is cheesy and cliched in the way of 1930s era serials. It makes a lot of LucasArts jokes in reference to the similar style of the SCUMM system. It moves along at a glacial pace as you slowly wander around the Amazon collecting items. For an adventure game, there are surprisingly few interactions I would call "puzzles". For the most part, it's pretty obvious which interactions should happen. It has a mild amount of the annoyance of some actions needing to be taken in a certain order to work. Only a few of the puzzle elements have had particularly obtuse solutions - or I solved by random chance interaction. Overall, it's not terrible as...

Great classic adventure game with a fun story, awesome voice acting & old school puzzles. The new interface is a bit clunky but serviceable. Loads of walking, would have enjoyed a way to skip crossing entire areas.

It's really hard for me to give objective, unbiased review of this fantastic game, because it was the one, that hooked me to the wonderful world of point & click adventures back in 1995 when it was released. Brilliant humor, great writing, spectacular voice acting and the unbeatable atmosphere of the surroundings make this the game that has reached the podium of all time top 3 computer games for me. Simply: MUST. HAVE.

Note: Finished in 11 hours of gameplay. In general: What a nostalgia! I played this game as a kid 25 years ago. I loved it then, I love it now. Some players seem to be way too much critical. Well, this is NOT a remake. This is a simple port of the ORIGINAL game for modern OS with some new features. It runs in full-HD with updated UI and it has full voice acting. But it still looks like the old classic adventure game. Nicely done. Pluses: + runs under modern OS in full-HD + faithful to the original look + full voice acting + funny dialogs + subtitled in several languages Neutral: +- story is somewhat stupid but hey – who cares? Minuses: - new UI is glitchy and doesn’t work properly all the time

It wants to be a parody of/tribute to LucasArts adventure games. It does it's job, but it's still pretty boring compared to the actual LucasArts games.
