Doesn't feel like Total War, it's cartoony, not satisfying, and not immersive like other total wars. Units look bland and animations are nearly 90% miss matched. Even simple marching animations aren't satisfying

About This Game

In this legendary age, heroes walk the earth. In an act that shocks the world, audacious Paris, prince of Troy, elopes with the beautiful queen of Sparta. As they sail away, King Menelaus curses her name. He vows to bring his wife home – whatever the cost.

Fight to save or conquer the kingdom of Troy as one of eight iconic heroes, including the infamous warrior Achilles, noble protector Hector, wayward prince Paris and vengeful king Menelaus.

Lead an army across the fabled lands of the Aegean, recruit special units inspired by creatures of Greek myth, and charge into battle against ferocious foes.

Build your empire through strategy, statecraft, diplomacy and all-out war, as you conquer this vast and striking recreation of the Bronze Age Mediterranean.

Gets a bad rap imo, has a lot of cool ideas for alternative takes on historical total wars. I like that you can choose to just have your generals be normal dudes in a unit, or go for the three kingdoms lu-bu style of achilles depending on your preference. The mythical unit implementation was also cool, having the choice of the centaurs being special normal cavalry with good stats, or the larger than life monsters like youd see in warhammer total war with the centigors. I just really don't like the multi resource city building on the campaign map that they've gone for with this, and now pharaoh/dynasties. Not bad, but not worth 50$. If you can get it on sale for like 20-30$ with maybe some dlc, that might be worth it, but for me it was a bit more of a miss. ESPECIALLY because of the step backwards for multiplayer campaigns. WH3 has like 8 player coop, why couldn't we have more than 2 dudes for this with the epic trojan war campaign, when we have heroes like ajax, achilles, and hector ro...
Total war and Troy - the best combination ever
A good game, but tough to get to know how to play correctly. Best to watch a few tutorials when you get the chance. I played achilles and hector all the way through, interesting mechanics for each.
6/10
Siege battles become monotonous quickly due to lack of artillery, but heroes and different flavors add a lot to experience. overall 8/10 as a game 5/10 as a total war title
Total Troy is kind of a middle game to some however, to me, I love Greek mythology and Greek culture and I love the fact is that it’s based off of the Trojan war which did happen and I like that there’s three game modes so there’s the historical game mode Which is just normal. Total war a truth behind the myth game mode where it takes crazy myths and kind of turns into kind of believability then there’s a full on mythos mode where it has mythical monsters crazy stuff. The modern scene is very awesome. If you like the movie Troy, you will recognize some of the Trojan warrior with a Greek warriors the unit variety is all right. The campaign has plenty of replayability. It has an amazing trading system all in all it’s a really good game.
Very nice game. Great graphics, very good trade system. Very enjoyable experience. Mainly playing Mythos.
Challenging. Fun. Its great, though I hate the limits with the gameplay types. Historic feels wrong since this whole war is fiction. Truth Behind the Myth feels good except for having an explanation for every single Mythical thing that happened in the Iliad. Lastly, Mythos. Its just Total War: Warhammer but in Greece and it feels wrong for a number of reasons. Overall tho, still great.
