About This Game

The Ring of Truth is a short walking simulator game where the main goal is to uncover a hidden truth. In an abandoned factory, you try to find clues about the separate life of your father, one of the technicians who worked there.

By examining abandoned objects and listening to the old recordings left by your father, you are trying learn why he never made contact with you.

The game offers a fully alone exploration feeling around a story that you will care about from the start.

 • Collectibles
 • Ordering puzzle

No Features:

 • The game doesn't offer voice acting. Recordings only have background sounds.

$5.99 for this game? Seriously? I liked the premise and I expected to at least get something decent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The graphics are really poor, the font is tiny so you almost need a magnifying glass to read the text, the character speed is slow and there is no run option (if there was the game would probably last about 20-30 mins tops). Also, it's obvious that English isn't the dev's first language, but apart from a few grammar mistakes here and there, the text is ok. You simply wander around the building looking for recordings (there are no spoken words, you just have to read the text... yea), and a few objects that you can examine. Literally NOTHING else. Also, the jump option is very weird, in the sense that it's only available on the very first sequence of the game, on the train tracks. After that the character magically loses the ability to jump (although it's not really needed), which is funny. There is one positive thing about the game and that is ...

I love walking simulator games. This game looked fun. Unfortunately I keep walking over stuff and can't get back over it as the jump feature only works for me in select areas, so I wind up getting stuck in numerous places and the having to restart the game. I want my $5 bucks back. I really wanted to like this one, and still would if they'd fix the bugs starting with the jump feature. Fix it, and I'll switch to a thumbs up! So far this game is only frustrating.

Hello. So I got this game because I am a fan of walking simulator/exploration/story based games and the price tag was fair. First of all, the story comes together really well and it is well written. The puzzles are fine, ~basically the objects you need to find through the environment and another thing about story that I won't spoil here~ They are not obscurely placed and easy enough to find as long as you pay attention to your surroundings. The graphics and music are not bad aswell. Nothing outstanding but good enough for its price tag. Only thing I find that could be done better is the environment/object variety. But since the game is set in an abandoned factory, it's quite negligible. Overall I recommend it to people who likes these type of games, it's worth a playthrough. Edit: Typo

This game is ass. Slow movement, janky ass gameplay and no voice acting? The developer "Useless Machines" name couldn't be more ironic, because thats all you get with this game, its a useless game filled with dead useless machines

This isn't the worst game. All the controls work fine, and all the achievements pop when earned. Unfortunately, the story just isn't interesting or relatable, and the end makes no sense in that
there's absolutely no reason for you to be there in the first place because, as we learn, your father did not like you and would not have sent you a letter.
This just wasn't interesting, fun, or satisfying.
Not that bad... But not that good either...
Everything is rusted, almost same color, finding the collectables is kinda tricky. You need to find all the tapes, which tell a little of a story and you need to find out the order of it, because it's scattered all over the place. Did kinda like the searching for the items and tapes, some very well hidden, but finding the order of the story was a drag. Not fun at all, but I got the picture of it. That was enough for me. Recommendation? Honestly, it's more of a MEH then a YES or a NO. Make the game F2P and it's a YES from me, but I think a NO is best suited in this case. Good thing the developer didn't put weeping angels in the game as well... LOL

Sorry but this is a pretty mediocre experience and definitely not worth $11,79 CAD (though it does go on sale for 90% off which to be honest is about as much as I'd somewhat comfortably pay for an experience like this) The Good: - Other reviewers have made complaints about the visuals but honestly, for an indie game, I was quite pleased with it and they did a pretty good job setting up the atmosphere of an abandoned remote train factory. - The soundtrack I have to say is pretty nice and calming, good work by Alexander Hoff and Dylan Owen (though I found it kind of funny that they sort of copied the melody of the Daredevil show's intro music for one of the tracks) - They are at least open about the game's mechanics in the game's description The Bad: - While I'll admit that I'm not the most observant in these types of note-based story exploration games, it was still quite difficult finding all the recordings and objects to the point where I kinda got ...

A decent, short walking simulator that tackles the concept of a broken home. A father sends his son (you) a letter that is delivered on his eighteenth birthday. He requests the son to come to the now abandoned factory. When you get there, it is unclear if your father will be there, so you end up exploring the facility finding various things left behind by previous workers, as well as tapes with journal entries from said parental figure scattered about. Once you find the ten tapes, you have to put them in chronological order. When you do, you get to read about the man you knew as your father, why he was here, and why he left. That is until the end which is essentially a big middle finger to the concept of closure. Honestly, coming from a broken home, the story actually rings true of my own shildhood with the exception of my father having been a workaholic. Basically, the twist is
that another kid received a letter from your father. Thing is he is not your father, but that kid...
