Backspace Bouken is a Japanese-inspired old-school dungeon crawler with a fast-paced typing battle system and ridiculous storyline. Fight monsters by typing their dialogue as you progress through the game and climb the tower. Fast and accurate typing will be rewarded, and maybe you'll even become a better typer!

Not Recommended

I was having a good time, and I never died a single time until I got to the final boss, at which point I have to give up now because it feels impossible. It seems like the the difficulty of the game is based on how quickly you typed on the first encounter, as the enemies throughout the game keep referencing how you did on that first enemy, including the final boss. But somehow the balancing has made it so that the final boss has become impossible for me, and there doesn't seem to be a way to lower the difficulty, which is very frustrating. I type around 90-100 WPM, so I never would have expected to be unable to complete the game. But I've been typing for years, and 100 WPM is basically the ceiling of my typing speed, so if that's not enough to defeat the final boss then I just literally can't beat the game then. I would give this game a thumbs up if there was a way to change the difficulty, because otherwise it is a nice little typing game.
