About This Game

The most famous painting in the world releases its demons

The Scream by Edvard Munch is omnipresent. Its terror-twisted face has made such a deep and lasting impression on the collective imagination that it is even used for an emoji representing anxiety. But do you really know this iconic painting? Munch’s demons and ghosts emerge from the canvas to plunge you into the painter’s sources of inspiration, revealing quite a few precious secrets.

The privilege of going head-to-head with the famous masterpiece provides a spectacular immersion into the painter’s tortured psyche, bringing you up close and anxiously personal with natural and supernatural phenomena, ghosts and mummies. The canvas suddenly releases its demons and chaos invades every millimetre of your personal (virtual) space.

This breath-taking dive into Munch’s The Scream will not leave you unscathed.

This used to be free, now it isn't. And for absolutely no reason either. The experience itself is a neat little thing but it's not really worth anymore than a dollar.

A completely new way to indulge yourself into Edvard Munch's famous work of expressive art. Very different from other VR experiences about art. Highly recommended.

It was an ok experience, i would have wished for less boring talk and more visuals. It's also not always clear whether the game is expecting for you to do something or not. This should probably have been free considering how short and how little content it has.

Enjoyable experience, but very short. I am slightly disappointed, because I expected the painting to come to life more. It does give some background information about Edvard Munch and about the painting. In my opinion this could have been more then it was. I consider to recommend this VR experience because the content was not bad and I enjoyed the experience. Giving a bit more thought to this review (which was initially an up-vote) I do believe it is too expensive. Then I see it is listed under free to play, which it is not. I should have been free to play. Or at least way cheaper ! Down-voted due to the price vs duration. It is expensive for what you get. Would be a definite recommendation if it would have been free. There are many free experiences around which offer more content.

Truly great experience. Very informative, capturing and beautiful. Even though it's not long, it is very high quality. A must have and a bargain, even though you probably won't play it often. I had a little bit of trouble to reach some stuff because it was outside of my VR area beneath a wall but could make it eventually.

I really liked this experience, worth the money :) One tip though, I agree that the volcano scene should be a bit shorter.

A fascinating short documentary/experience about the famous "Scream". Surreal and quite beautiful, plus with a hint of horror, nothing major though. The level of polish makes it worth it. Roughly 10 mins long and recommended when introducing someone to VR or looking for a quick VR spin. Technical note: Tested with the Index Controllers and the Index. Works perfectly. Though please note that you need the minimum playspace as there's no movement options whatsoever, not having the minimum may make some interactions difficult.
