It's bad. Really bad. It was "Campy" bad at first... Dialog, story, graphics are all scraping bottom of the barrel. Rules are inconsistent with DnD and even inconsistent with itself. Some fire creatures are immune to fire, others are not, some are *sometimes* immune... highly inconsistent. Most *BASE* classes and races are hidden by DLC. Very scammy. There's a mod that helps with this, but it's not on Steam, so it's a PITA to get it installed. ***HOWEVER*** Once you install the mod, Multiplayer is ruined. Constant Desync between host and client. There's a "decent" fix, by hard setting your GPU to 60 FPS. Which means, for WTF ever reason they connected network activity to the GPU. And it still desyncs, but not *every* fight. Even worse, once you install the DLC and experience the Desnc, you can't uninstall it... and after seeing all the classes/races left out by the orginal came in the mod, you can't enjoy going back. Story is bad and get worse as you get to the end.

About This Game
True to the Tabletop
Wizards of the Coast granted Tactical Adventures a license to use the Dungeons and Dragons SRD 5.1 Ruleset, further anchoring our will to make the most faithful video game adaptation with the Tabletop Ruleset and craft the game you are hoping for!
Solasta: Crown of the Magister brings back the thrill, tactics, and deep storytelling of tabletop games. As you play, you'll feel yourself reaching for your dice and miniatures. It's time to dive into the world of Solasta. Roll for initiative!
About the Game
Created and written by lifelong fans of Pen & Paper RPGs, comes Solasta: Crown of the Magister.
Bring the authentic Tabletop gaming experience to your PC!
Roll for initiative, take attacks of opportunity, manage player location and the verticality of the battle field. Set yourself up for the finishing strike and possibly roll a natural 20 at that key moment of battle.
In Solasta, you take control of four heroes, each with unique skills that complement one another. Every hero expresses themselves in the adventure, making each action and dialog choice a dynamic part to the story. Players will create their heroes just as they would in a pen-and-paper game by choosing their race, class, personality and rolling for their stats.
You make the choices, dice decide your destiny.
Key Features:
An Epic Team Adventure
Discover the shattered world of Solasta: explore ruins and dungeons for legendary treasures, learn the truth of an age-old cataclysm - and stop it from happening again.
Create your very own party of adventurers with our Character Creation Tool in the classic tabletop RPG tradition. Breathe life into your heroes, and see their personalities reflected in their dialogue. Tailor your squad to your preferred strategy and maximize your party's abilities. The choice is yours.Discover a Mysterious & Dynamic World
Delve into long forgotten dungeons to unearth ancient artifacts, but stay watchful of light and darkness: many dangers hide in the dark, but a light can attract monsters. Some enemies have darkvision, some may flee from your torch... Successful adventurers will learn to use it to their advantage.
Fight monsters in squad-level, turn-based, tactical combat. Solasta's dynamic environment offers some interesting tactical options. Bridges can collapse, leaving enemies stranded and vulnerable. Walls and columns can be pushed over - on top of your foes, if you do it right. The world is your playground.Prepare to Think in Three Dimensions
The dungeons in Solasta are more than flat game-boards. Climb, jump, or fly around obstacles. Evade or surprise foes from above or below. Push them into chasms or drop things on their heads. Position yourself on high grounds to start the fight with an advantage.
Size also matters. Escape through narrow passages where bigger enemies won't fit and crawl through tunnels to find secret areas. Take advantage of the environment to find cover suited to your own size. Watch out, though - the monsters are also thinking vertically.Dungeon Maker
In Solasta, the adventure does not stop after the campaign is over. Unleash your creativity and craft your own dungeons to play and share with friends with the snap of a finger using the in-game Dungeon Maker! From the room layout, monster composition and treasure the party will find – down to the decoration and lighting of each room or the music track playing – everything is decided by you.

In far far land between mountains and forest lies stories of cities of ruins. This game will take you on serious journeys with dragons, gnomes and spells that will mix your steps in glamorous paintings. For what it took it was suprising detailed and fun little game. What you can expect from dnd but cant forseen how much it does. While the story will take some gripes and punches, the gameplay look where it is all. It fun its brutal and fair. Very cool detailed game with tons of understanding to be done and learning to be learned. It doesn’t reinvent anything new but it does invent fun factor into the mix. I would say it try it if you miss these kind of games with rules of sets and dice rules.
Bad lipsync , bad graphics .story line not that great Its as if Temu made BG3
Camera controls killed it for me. The UI looks like the website for a dentists office. The in game map needs some work.
Recommended if you like pen and paper D&D, not recommended if you don't. Overall, this is a faithful rendition of the D&D5 ruleset in an isometric RPG format but it's not exactly accessible.
Story
On the CRPG spectrum, Solasta feels more like a Hack & Slash tabletop adventure than a cinematic heroic epic. Expect a world with some history and exotic locales that offer tactical options from vertical combat with flight/wall climbing/knocking off cliffs and terrain hazards. Don't expect romance or branching endings. You make your own party of 4 characters and their personalities can create interesting variations in dialogue, but they won't have deep personal stories. Honestly, I think it's fine for what Solasta sets out to be. Score: 6.5/10
Presentation
IMO presentation is by far the weakest part of the game. The locales are pretty. The spell effects are cool. The characters are very ugly. Heads look like they're swollen from getting stung by bees, hairstyles...
Thumbs Up — A Solid CRPG with Tabletop Spirit I’m enjoying Solasta so far, especially the character creation. It’s fun, intuitive, and makes it easy to create a wide variety of characters with distinct personalities and playstyles. As someone with experience in D&D 5e (2014), I appreciate how the system captures that tabletop feel—though with a more limited selection compared to the full ruleset. Many options feel custom-built by the developers rather than straight from the Player’s Handbook, and while I wish there were more variety, the mix is still enough to build interesting and effective characters. Gameplay in my first few hours has been a little quirky when it comes to movement and interaction in the immediate play area, but I suspect that’s just me adjusting to the controls. Outside of that, menus for inventory, journal, and maps are well-designed, intuitive, and easy to use, which is a big plus. My biggest gripe is how much of the expanded content—like addition...
Summary: I give the game a passing grade, but I would not recommend it. 6/10. Only buy it if you absolutely love DnD 5e combat mechanics from 2014. Do you like DnD 5, but wish it had less roleplay? This game might be for you. The story is barebone, the characters are shallow and you can't affect the world around you. As a combat simulator the game works fine. Even then it includes infuriating limitations and restrictions that ought to have been detected and removed in playtesting. Requiring an "open" hand for somatic components is frankly absurd. Being able to change equipped weapon only once per turn likewise. Sometimes spells disappear during casting without counterspell or other explanation. Many choices are locked as soon as they are pressed and require loading an earlier save or starting over. Mistake in leveling up? Get fcked! Attuned the wrong character to the item? Go back to bed or load up! Much of this I am willing to forgive. It is the first game for this studio. Atleast ...
Let me start by saying that I've had this game in my "maybe" list for well over a year now. And recently decided to buy it and give it a go. I'M SO GLAD I GOT THIS GAME. I've been having a blast, I'm embarrassed to say I've put nearly 80 hours into the game in a little over a week lol. Long time DnD player here - so keep that in mind. If you like DnD and want to play a virtual version of that - this is it. However there are differences between this and BG3 which is obviously the gold standard for CRPGs now. I've played a ton of different CRPGS but most of them use real time with pause which i absolutely despise. I want Turn based, which is found here. I want the 5e ruleset rather than an action point system such as that in Divinity. I want voiced dialogue so i dont have to read walls of text everywhere I go. This game really checks all of the boxes for me... with caveats. It uses the SRD 5.1 so not ALL of what 5e has to offer is here. The game tries to make up for that with...
Game over on tutorial 10/10
Worst atempt to potray DnD I've ever seen... Story 1/10. Role Play -5/10. Gameplay 3/10. Game Design 1/10
