A very fun and innovative Rogue-lite with some deep and crunchy systems that you can get your teeth into and which allows a diversity of play styles. While there is certainly some rough edges (typos, general jank, the occasional crash) the developer is committed to post release support and updates to improve the game and add more features, and is also proactive about communicating with the players. I've written a guide to help new players better get to grips with the basics of the gameplay systems and choices on offer, to help them have a more fun experience starting out. That's how good I think the game is, it's been worth more than just my money, it's been worth my time in contributing to help make it more accessible to new players. I hope you enjoy the game and check out the guide to help make your new player experience a positive one!

Very nice game. Definitely a good one if you like space shooting games. Lots of ships to choose from and guns / engines / shields etc etc to put on the ships. Easy to learn and different every time you restart the game. Definitely a good game to pick up! EDIT: Forgot to mention a very active developer on the forum here at steam. Responds almost to all posts and definitely wants to improve the game with the feedback from the community!
This is at first glance a simple and quick game, but as you play it you will find it very fun and addictive. Besides being a one developer game, he is always looking for ways to polish and fix any bugs that might appear. There are 3 modes of play: - Rogue, where your ultimate goal is to defeat the powerful mainframe that generates all S.I.N robots that are a menace to the humanity. You go jumping from system to system, gathering equipment, resources and leveling your ship so you can eliminate the enemies you will find. There are 20 jumps you must do to reach the mainframe - Endless, in this one there is no limit to jumps, just enjoy the battles forever - Missions, these are one system challenges that put you on a specific starship where you need to defeat a set number of oponents to succeed. Every level has 3 choices of starship/enemies but you can upgrade your ship using the resources you gather from loot, planets and derelicts There are 3 basic ships you can chose from at the beginn...
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this game..I am kind of drawn to its incremental leveling system, its music and the fact you never know what is in store in a given run. However, there are some major annoyances..for one this developer can't spell to save his life, for example "Equipt your corvet after exploring the deralict" .. makes me wonder how he got the source code to compile. Another problem is unbalanced turrets, the basic mass driver (machine gun) does 0 damage most of the time if it even manages to hit while the higher damage turrets will drain your reactor ridiculously fast and still not very accurate... the enemy ships dont seem to have this same problem. I'm kind of mixed about landing on planets and "deralicts" because it is so easy to die from something ridiculous and the loot is rarely worth it. Another gripe is that the levels are too big, takes absolutely forever to fly around especially if you are forced to conserve fuel..and there are 21 levels not that I'v...
Typos all over the place, sometimes several per line of text. Controls are absolutely impossible to enjoy the game with. Excellent music though. Too bad, could have potential.
Tutorials were a walls of text. After starting you hardly know what to do or why, with very little feedback or anything to provoke interest, A tutorial mission guiding the player and using the various game mechanics would go a long way.
Good game idea, really rough in terms of bugs and performance
Simple but extremely fun, and a massive library of ships. You constantly feel progression as well.
This is a cautious recommendation, mostly based on the fact that the game is a dollar - it's harder to recommend something that has some issues if it's going to set you back $60, but at a buck, it's a pretty low risk for a very interesting, if flawed, game. I'll start by saying I'm a huge fan of arcade-y feeling space games. I've sunk dozens of hours into Star Control, Drox Operative, Ring Runner, S.P.A.Z., and Rebel Galaxy. Interstellar Rogue is basically the roguelike version of that sort of game, so it's starting off appealing to me. Somewhere hiding under the clunky facade is a brilliant little action space roguelike. There's a decent tutorial to get you going and a few more text-only ones to help, but there are still a lot of "learn by doing" moments that are part and parcel of a roguelike. Some of these things might be better explained (or explained at all), but I managed to grasp the basic mechanics pretty quickly. I haven't managed to finish the main mode, and honestly might ...
TLDR? 40 minute wait until my go to game finishes updating. Interstellar Rogue catches my eye, purchased for a couple bucks the other night. Roguelite perfect 40 minute time sink until the main attraction. "You've Played for 5 hours" is the first thing I notice after exiting back to my steam library "Would you recommend this game to other players?" So much to unlock, achieve, this recommendation was made with ease.
