Interesting, weird and spooky. Its always fun watching an indie dev who wants to make weird fellas cook, I enjoyed my time with Night signal a lot and I think if you like critters and weird almost analog horror kinda stuff, you will too!

I downloaded this game without many expectations;I was just intrigued by its dark, dreamlike aesthetic. Turns out it was one of the best decisions I could’ve made. Though short, the experience was truly thrilling, with spikes of anxiety and tension, and at times a bit of frustration when I couldn’t quite grasp what was going on. But with some patience and perseverance, everything falls into place and starts to make sense. A Lynchian nightmare with echoes of Svankmajer’s sculptural art. A small self-produced gem that deserves far more attention. The backstage artbook at the end is unmissable, packed with curiosities and interesting insights. I loved reading every single page. Needless to say, I now have to catch up on the series mentioned in the game, which I didn’t know existed. Kudos, this is a truly unique and original game!

I desperately wanted to enjoy this game. I really enjoy the visual style and I thought the premise was cool, but it quickly turns into a frustrating experience. Far too many enemies (and, yes there are enemies) are spawned in at once and can be spawned in under you; that in combination with the fact that I couldn't get the spacebar to consistently fire meant I was too frustrated by the end to actually finish the game. Although the price to play time is very steep, there is a scenario where I personally would be satisfied with it (even without a sale discount) but it would have to truly be a fantastic horror experience. That said the game is currently 75% off and I still don't feel like it's anywhere near where it needed to be. Beyond the frustration, the pacing of events feels off, channel skits go by pretty quickly and horror events feel surface deep. Despite everything, I do love the theming and effort that went into maintaining that. I'd like to see how far the developers can go,...
Yes, but it needs a lower price for what is offered
For the price point and the amount of "gameplay" it offers...there isn't really anything redeemable. I usually enjoy artistic experiences of any kind, walking simulators and the like...but this is not it. There's not much in terms of "stop-motion" quality animation as most of the stuff you see in the TV are just still images with some background audio. The few things that move within the game environment don't really seem to be animated with anything more than basic level of quality to make them...animated. No stop-motion or awe inducing artistic qualities. Gameplay is reduced to just randomly going through channels, moving the antenna and seeing an effect either be plastered all over the 1st person camera view or "changing the environment" (yeah, sure...) spawning some random enemy that you kill by vaguely looking in their direction and holding the spacebar. Those same enemies spawn, again, always in the same number, if you accidentally go over the "spawning channel" again. You ...
It's neat. In more words, Night signal isn't revolutionary, but its got some interesting character designs and associated visuals. The day/night loop stuff is kinda fun (being able to just watch normal TV during the day, then doing the horror mechanics at night), but I kinda wish I could have actually seen more of the daytime TV. The nights could do to be a bit more challenging or have more things to manage; once you discover the new signals for the night, you can just leave it on a specific signal and be safe for the rest of the night. It would have been neat if there were multiple you would have to switch between to manage the effects of different signals. Overall, its a neat little experience game that I had nothing bad to say about (and a few good things to mention), and is if nothing else very unique. One playthrough took me ~45 minutes and there are no achievements or similar challenges to 100%.
