You are the boss of this Cathedral
Puny humans, bugs under your feet, have invaded your lair. Time to teach them a lesson and defend your domain. Use your incredible agility to run circles around them and your fiery breath with 3 attack modes to set them ablaze. Turn your foes into ash or blast them into gory bits and show the world who’s the boss of this Cathedral.
Heart on your sleeve
Your heart is hidden in a chest. No, not your chest, think wooden box used for storage. Anyway, the humans are weak but they are cunning. They will try to destroy your heart just as rapidly as they’ll try to destroy you, so you need to protect it. That chest is also where your store the essence that allows you to keep barraging the uninvited guests with fire, so make sure to have the box with you when collecting ammo.
What year is it?
Cathedral 3-D draws a lot from the 90s era arena shooters. The beautiful flying cathedral where you’ve made your lair is presented with meticulously designed retro-inspired visuals, and the gameplay derives from the arena shooter traditions of the ones like Quake and Catacomb 3-D.
Multiverse of carnage
Survive as long as possible and get your name on the leaderboard where you can compete with versions of yourself from parallel worlds. Become the most terrifying monster in the entire multiverse and the boss of all the Cathedrals!

Visuals are nice and the conceptual idea is as well. However, i couldnt stand it for longer than 10 minutes. I feel like there were made a few bad decisions that if done differently could make this game a great one. For example getting damage by being hit AND having the chest hit feels horrible. There are enemies constantly spamming your with ranged attacks and they run across the map in mere seconds. I would have limited damage to only apply when the chest gets hit, while you being invincible. And honestly, when i read the description i thought that would be the way it plays. It is not thought through. The limited ammo is discouraging to play further, it plays wonky and my first 4 minutes had me several times fall through the floor. I also cant agree to anyone claiming that this plays like a shooter from the 90s. Yeah? Which one? Exactly, none. All that this is, is a very stripped down version of Ziggurat. Or a fancier version of Devil Daggers, just with limited ammo, which you can ...

It doesn't work on Ivy Bridge processor, that's unacceptable for a «simple» game. And tested with Linux Proton 5.13-1 it plays audio, but there's no video...

Very fun lil survival shooter. Takes a bit of time to understand that the game wants you to be careful and figure out best choke points to destroy your enemies from, but when you do find some of those out, it's super satisfying. The graphics are also really amazing to me and I could just look at them for hours lol.

I'd say this game is well worth your time if youre a fan of arena shooters with a unique spin. Fans of Devil Daggers and the like will feel at home with this fast paced First Person Demon-er. While the game doesn't do much in terms of hand holding, there's a bit to take in mechanic wise at first. But after a few play-throughs and learning the ins and outs on your own its an easy beast to tame. Flying around as a demon in this massive gorgeous cathedral feels so satisfying and blasting away and taking out your foes its a lot of fun. A few problems I encountered that I assume will be patched out over time are cause for a bit of frustration at the moment. While the combat is frantic and fast, you have to manage an item that shares health with you that slows down the fight and makes you think with a more strategic focus. I enjoy this mechanic as it makes you always on your toes, never settling down in one spot. The problem lies in the interacting with the item itself. There were times wh...

I would love to give the game play a proper review, but based on the comparison found in other reviews to Hell Shooter, I'm not waiting around for patches to see. While this game may look low resolution, it has no optimization and as such didn't run well at 4k on my extremely high end 5700 XT, 3700x OC'd with high speed ram and a platinum power supply. Expected a locked 120hz, would've even accepted 45fps had the game wanted, but no matter which version of Proton I run, even Glorious Eggrolls versions, it doesn't get beyond 4fps. This is a horrific launch, a simple fix for this if they don't know how to optimize would be a slider for resolution like Doom Eternal and hundreds of other games feature. Also during my little bit of exploration at 4fps, every enemy with shirts were tposing. Won't bother scoring, not a game yet.
