The first quarter of the game is downright miserable, the second is just boring, the third is actually not too bad, and the last one drags you into pure despair. Too few weapons, too little ammo, too little enemy variety, small maps, a primitive story that only starts to warm up closer to the end, terrible boss and miniboss fights, a clumsy stitching together of the plots of Crysis 1 and 2, and the occasional disappearance of textures (“we couldn’t be bothered to draw a wall in this doorway, so here’s just a black void”). And the cherry on top is the bridge mission: you’ve already folded your hands and are watching a cutscene, when suddenly they throw in a QTE moment. Fail it — and you’re replaying the last 10 minutes of the mission. Played it, deleted it, forgot it.

Rating: 3.5/5 A much more action-oriented game than the first game. Where stealth was heavily favored in the first game, there was almost nothing from stopping a run-and-gun style in this one. [hr][/hr] The game really dives into the [spoiler] alien narrative [/spoiler] which was featured in the second half of the first game. The first part of Crysis 1 reminds me of Far Cry 3 or Black, while the second half of Crysis 1 is where it becomes its own thing. While the lore might not be the greatest, it is at least as intriguing as it is horrifying. Lots of fun and I hope to play Crysis 3 one day. (have never played it, not even on console)
