For those who expect a challenge from this game, it would definitely be a huge disappointment. It’s more of a relaxed game with almost nothing except exploring and enjoying the colorful world unfold from cleaning out the gunk I’d consider it a perfectly average game - I don’t regret my time with it, but I can see why others might be disappointed. I like the aesthetic- and it’s got a relaxing vibe to it. The game had a couple moments where the frame rate hitched (on the large elevator scenes), and that rarely happens on my pc, overall i would say i had a good time with it given how cheap this game goes for during sale!

The pro: Game is fluid, Full voice acted. some location looks nice The con: Story is boring. two main characters are super annoying. game-play feel like chore ( clean up and collect ingredients) puzzles are mid upgrades are not noticeable. combat are almost unnecessary purging after cleaning takes too long. Overall, there are many better and cheaper option than this game.

I had a wonderful time with this game. The art is fantastic and I got to clean up a world and make it beautiful one bit at a time. I got the feeling that the developers' overriding aim was for the player to enjoy themself and they succeeded brilliantly. A lovely world to spend time in and a joyful, optimistic story to be part of. A game that wants to make you happy.

It's pretty bland to be honest. The MCs are annoying and the story is boring. Describes itself as "action-adventure" but there is no action and the adventure is a chore.

A relaxing game with beautiful environments and charming textures. The planet itself draws you in, encouraging exploration. Simple controls, excellent voice acting, and satisfying equipment upgrades. The narrative is engaging and leaves you with a strong sense of accomplishment at the end. Notes: - There are some minor collision issues with plants, but they don’t disrupt the overall experience. - In certain dark areas, it can be challenging to spot the remaining gunk.

Cute little puzzle platformer that manages a nice, compact story without falling into too much cringe dialog between the lead characters.

✅ What Makes It Great (Why You Might Love It) 🌱 1. Visually Pleasing Despite not being a big-budget game, The Gunk looks beautiful. One of the best parts is seeing the world bloom back to life after you clean up the gunk. That transformation is deeply satisfying, both visually and emotionally. 🧹 2. Satisfying Clean-up Mechanics Vacuuming up the gunk with your mechanical glove “Pumpkin” feels like a sci-fi version of PowerWash Simulator. There’s a relaxing and rewarding rhythm to it — it’s honestly fun just making the world clean again. 👭 3. Warm, Relatable Characters The dynamic between Rani and Becks is charming. Their conversations feel real — they joke, argue, and support each other in a way that makes them believable and likable. 🎮 4. Relaxed Pacing This game isn’t stressful. No endless combat, no complex systems. It’s more of a cozy adventure that lets you explore, solve simple puzzles, and enjoy the atmosphere at your own pace.

You may like this game if you like the feeling of cleaning up / cleansing nature, e.g. Terra Nil. If you don't, you probably won't find anything else that stands out in this game.
