Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling is an adventure-RPG following three heroes, Vi, Kabbu, and Leif, as they embark on an epic quest in Bugaria in search of The Everlasting Sapling, a treasure that can grant immortality! Bug Fables combines colorful platforming with the heroes' unique abilities as they explore a wide variety of areas in the kingdom. Turn-based battles make use of Action Commands that can power up your attacks!

STORY

Hidden within the foliage of nature lies a small but prosperous continent - Bugaria. Insects from all over the world travel to it in search of the treasure scattered across it. The most sought after of these relics is The Everlasting Sapling! Eating just one of its leaves can grant even immortality! In search of this ancient artifact, a brave team of explorers - Vi, Kabbu, and Leif - will travel across many different environments. In order to do so, they must work together to clear puzzles, defeat strong enemies and help the general bug populace!

Just realized I hadn't written a review of this game already, and immediately had to write one. Of course I recommend this game. It's in my top 2 indie games of all time. If you like turn based games at all it is a no brainer. Maybe even if you don't. Story is good, characters are good, it's funny. It's cute and rated E but also very enjoyable for adults. Clearly inspired by the old Paper Mario games, but actually manages to be better.

Paper Mario TTYD's combat, badges system, level up system, chapter system, overworld abilities system, and cooking system, all packaged up really nicely into a new game for those who wish Paper Mario's formula didn't change after TTYD. I love the twists in the final area. Very fun and replayable. Great deep lore.

An excellent homage to the paper mario games it is based on. The style that the game goes for really brings out its charm and uniqueness of bugs and insects in what they perceive as an open world to explore when to people they see it as just grass and a sandbox. The battle mechanics have more to it than brute forcing, and it even has a hard mode for those who want a challenge and the music does not disappoint. As someone who 100% this game, it is definitely worth grabbing as it will not disapoint.
