I love racing games. I am also terrible at them. Online I’m basically the pace car, and offline I win by bolting enough upgrades onto my car that I finish with a 20+ second lead like I just discovered warp speed. That’s my whole strategy. Improve the car, not the driver. Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2 laughed in my face. This game is mean. You crash constantly, and every time you restart a race you lose 10% of your potential winnings. Restart too much and you’re racing for pocket change. If you want to get better bikes, you actually have to get better yourself. What a scam. Switching to manual was the big moment. I always pick automatic because I’m a casual fan who just wants to mash the throttle and pray. Here, shifting is the real game. You listen to the engine, shift at the right time, lean with the bike, and drop gears to slow down. Do it right and sparks fly when the pegs scrape the road and you feel like a hero. Do it wrong and you’re skidding across the pavement lik...

There are many aspects to this game that are confusing or infuriating, but ultimately it is the most fun and most accomplished feeling I've ever felt in a racing game. True Dark Souls of racing games.
this game is fucking hard as shit and i love it
Great game but at the begging is EXTREMELY hard to deal with game mechanics, especially turning in corners and maneuvering! I suggest the beginner preset but with manual transmission. I use left mouse button for shift down to lower gear and right mouse button for shift up to higher gear, cause if you use the keyboard for it you may loose traction with handling cause of constantly moving fingers across the keyboard or to miss-click random button. Traction ctrl, wheelie ctrl, stoppie ctrl should be HIGH or either you will drive slow or uncontrollable. I took me several hours to understand the physics. I suggest to lay and learn in the free roam (Single Player > Free roam) to learn the map, corners, physics and mechanics and to master a bikes controlling. I suggest to stick with one bike (Not supersport) and to play only with it cause changing bikes constantly with slow your progress of learning and mastering steering, stopping and maneuvering. I personally like the Yamaha R6 (base versio...
It's a resounding thumbs up! Not as pretty as the third instalment but this is easier to play and importantly - WIN. Also slightly easier to understand the menus and game progression. If you can't decide which version to get, this one is probably it - unless you're a pro then go for 3. 1 is like being comfortable with an ex but you've had better since, 3 is like the unattainable fantasy - looks amazing but you can't keep up. And 2 is simply a keeper, not all that but more than enough. Personally I bought all three games because they are all brilliant! TT is the best sport going and this series doesn't disappoint one bit - my advice: BUY THEM ALL
