- Souls-like combat: Dodge, block and parry, then accurately land your attack. Over 40 different weapons, shields and spells with different combat abilities

** UPDATE ** at the bottom. NOTE: I have only played this game for like 2-3 hours. I left it paused for a long time, so it says I played for like 8. "Slight Yes" vote. It was fun for a couple hours, but is not very fun anymore. This game has potential, but I see a couple issues that together severely limit it's replay value. 1) While the levels are technically different every time, it's still the same type of level with the same type of enemies. Level 1 is a dungeon and level 2 is a castle (I have not reached level 3 yet). This means that after I finish level 1 with skeletons, I am not surprised that level 2 is a castle with knights. 2) There are no save points and healing is limited. You only get 1 life and if you are almost dead by the time you get to the boss, there is nothing you can do but fight with low HP. Each boss takes a couple attempts (I have tried the second boss 4 times now). Each time I die, I have to spend 20 minutes going through the dungeon and then the castle ...

Before I get to far into the review, let me mention foremost that this game is repatative. Much like MHW, Diablo, Binding of Issa, etc. If you enjoy those type of games however you will feel right at home here. The game features permanent upgrades that you get to keep through every run as well as temporary upgrades, like many of the rouge-like's do. However, this game has a class system that you build on the fly as you are doing your run and once you complete a class it gives you a whole new ability! It's quite awesome to experiment here as you can mix and match classes. There a few downsides, the sound design is rather lacking. Its okay, but nothing special and you aren't gonna sa...
Thoughts after 50 minutes of gameplay: Can't figure out if I enjoy this yet. The soundscape seems really sparse, the music is repetitive and generic. The overall presentation feels kind of unpolished. The visual cues are lacking; I'm dying pretty often right now as I'm getting a feel for the mechanics and basically never can tell when it actually happens other than eyeing my own healthbar. The menu font seems out of place. UI elements are stylistically distinct from the game environment. Its like a professional artist made the game assets and then someone else made the HUD and menu stuff. It's sort of jarring. The actual gameplay I can't speak to yet. I'll update this review if it overcomes these criticisms. As of now, it isn't there.
Have to give credit where its due. On the outside, it won't look terribly impressive, but it actually delivered 110% what I'd ask for out of a $10 game. Its a little cheaper on sale, but I suggest waiting for another sale unless you're a fan of rogue-lite's. Combat is quite pleasantly akin to dark soul's combat, but with a more flashy and playful dungeoncrawler touch to it. Weapons and spells scale off your stats like DS, and you can get some strange RNG to reroll them. Having a giant hammer with S+ power from INT is amusing when you combine it with Thunder Spear with S+ scaling across the boards, you finally get to feel the power of one-shotting your least favorite boss once and a while. If content for this game continues, it could easily justify the cost of the full game. Try it, you can always refund it within two hours if its not for you. (I bet you won't.)

Got way more out of this game than I bargained for. A little shady looking but there's some depth to this game. Good fun.
Wow. I finally beat the last boss after 14+ hrs. This game was fun. It made me think of a bare-bones souls-like combat wise, and had enough random chance with powers that may have produced a gambling addiction in me. I still need to be a ghost / challenger (titles that will give you extra passive powers in game). If you enjoy dodge-parry-roll combat, and [i]really[/i] like it (you wouldn't get bored after hours and hours...) and are okay with tedious music, this will give you unending content. If you want a polished game triple-a game, this isn't it. It's really more of a fun way to practice parries and dodging and the like.
Went in with 0 expectations. Was pleasantly impressed.
A surprisingly fun little souls-like. Despite recognizable store assets, weird English and poor optimization, this game managed to get me hooked with all the different powers, spells and weapons you can unlock. Enemies and areas get quite samey fast, getting stunlocked is annoying and some things don't feel well though-out/balanced, but unlocking various "classes" is still fun and even quite addictive. Definitely worth its price.
