About the Game

Learn how to use your deck of tool, spell, and weapon cards to construct an enchanted castle. Then build workbenches, forges, alchemy laboratories, and castle defenses. Order around your fellowship of dwarves to prevent fires, floods, and lightning strikes. Protect the tower from enemies and envious wizards seeking to destroy your legacy. Adapt to the unique landscape, fight off enemy spawns, and earn a fresh pack of cards each time you play.

Dwarven Skykeep's main story takes players through a magical world full of incredible moments, hilarious characters with side quests to offer, and plenty of opportunities to specialize your fancy new equipment.

Meet the great wizard Dr. Sevendar Kness, a master in card magic

The sorcerer arrives in Dwarven City with a mission. Find out the exact details of this mysterious mission by helping Dr. Kness do what he does best: build the coolest towers using different types of cards. Choose them wisely before each level.

Build, upgrade and defend your towers with the help of dwarves and gnomes

Your small but bold helpers can build, repair and upgrade rooms, craft tools, extinguish fires, and even fight enemies. Just provide them with constant access to beer, and they'll do anything you command!

Explore five distinct worlds, each with unique mechanics

On your way to a mission, you will face difficult and sometimes insane challenges. Heat up your tower in the Winter World, drive a train in a desert, keep your tower flying with "Levitron," and attempt to return the eaten sun while making your way through the Shadow World. You will encounter tons of obstacles in every level, but nothing is impossible - especially on the fifth try.

Meet tons of interesting and charismatic characters, monsters and bosses

The talented goblin inventor Ghyrka Yo wants to destroy your tower. The bad-tempered Snow Queen freezes everything onsight. Cunning thieves strive to steal your cards. Then there's Gypsy Witch Irinia, Sevendar's old friend... and plenty of other personalities in store.

Uncover references to cult films, novels, and even other games

Dwarven Skykeep ain't just about Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. There are plenty of other interesting tributes hidden throughout the game. Meet Genkins the Paladin (he loves his chicken!), help a predestined hero Lightstar find Excalibur, and, somewhere in the desert, discover a big worm named Shah-e-khulud...

I actually like the game, but the RNG of what cards you can get can completely break your game. For instance, there are rooms with only 1 entrance, and rooms have to connect with the nearby rooms with entrances on the same area with no no doors leading to walls. What this ends up meaning is that if you end up with two 1 door rooms at the start of the game, you'r building is stunted, or completely halted. There are some spells and items to fix that, but if you didn't draw those cards or the cards that can produce them; you've already lost the game. Often times, I find the game reduces down to restarting till I get the right cards to start.

The game is too easy to the point of being boring. The quests feel like chores rather than interesting challenges. The progression is very linear. The general idea and the art style are cool but the game fails because of poor execution and boring levels.

Cosy vibes, rather easy to learn base mechanics, beautiful pixel art aesthetic and lovely music will make this game for an awesome weekend afternoon.

I hate to add to the negative reviews, because the game certainly has it's charm. But it's been pointed out that there are basic gameplay flaws that haven't gotten addressed yet. Too janky for me to keep playing

Can't recommend this game. Even though I really want to. I played the developers original game Dwarf Tower, which whilst it has its issues ( weak AI mostly ), is a gem of a little turn based tile laying game. This game has built on the same aesthetic but created an entirely different kind of a game. It's prettier. More complicated. But definitely not better. The game is a bit of a mash between game types, something of a deck builder and deck management game, and something of a realtime builder and tower defence game. For my money it does none of these things well - from clunky controls ( the mouse clicks are horrible, sometimes it will click to go to a location, other times start a timer for a melee... which you can't do... ) to painful RNG deck management, the game design is just a disaster. It is clear that much time and love and humour has been poured into this game, but unfortunately that doesn't equate into a decent playable experience. The campaign much like everything else is ja...

Really good game to be played. Alongside the gameplay, I really enjoyed the whole content, including artstyle and soundtrack

If you like quirky and charming indie games, especially of the deckbuilding/tableu-building variety, this is definitely a game to check out! I've had a blast so far, and am looking forward to completing the game. It's something of a puzzle basebuilder board game, but without a turn-based aspect, and it does that well. Early RNG in a level can render it extremely difficult to beat if you get even a little unlucky, however, so perfectionists and easy-ragequitters beware! Between missions there's a lot of standard overworld faire, complete with tower-loads of wacky postmodern self-aware humor of a flavor I've not quite seen before. Just about everything has a comedic bent, so it'll probably irk anyone who doesn't get the humor, but if you do, it'll keep you entertained the entire time. The devs are still working on the tutorial (which is excellent but a bit sparse on some important details) and the game has just launched so it's still a bit of a bumpy ride, but overall if you like post...

I actually really like this game, and I'm not gonna ask for a refund. But it needs to improve before I'd recommend it to anyone else. I have had the game crash on me multiple times in a day. Also you need a native english speaker to go through all your scripts - I love the humour but I could tell quite a few translation errors. Outside of the crashing, there are also some quality of life issues that should be addressed. I love that the game is non-linear, but there needs to be a quicker way to get through the city. There is a lot of "figuring out" that I had to do in order to understand certain artefact combinations, etc - which is fine, but e.g. for the one that turns the wizard into a fighting mage, there should be something in the item description that says it only works with magic charges/mana. Please work on making the game actually fit for the marketplace and I will gladly change my recommendation and recommend that others play it - you can tell it is a solid game, but the...

The idea of this game is very cute and fun, but the actual gameplay needs a lot of improvement. The card choices and variety need a lot of work.

This is likely to be one of the best hidden gems i found in a while. The game will keep you entertained for quite some time. Among other things, like detailed pixel graphics and great sound, its not that hard to get into
