About the Game

Bite The Bullet is the world’s first Run & Gun & Eat. In this roguelite RPG shooter you must eat enemies, bullets and more to powerup your character, weapons, and abilities. Gun down zombies, robots and giant mutant bosses with a barrage of bullets before chowing down on their corpses to craft new weapons, unlock new abilities and special attacks, and transform into a powerful Zombro form to smash foes. Explore four character classes and a skill tree based on your diet – and remember, you are what you eat!

How you play is driven by how you choose to eat. The carnivorous Gorivore or vegan Slaughterer of the Soil that have their own unique abilities and perks, changing how you defeat enemies and navigate levels. Customize your character with every choice and every bite. An interesting idea and the game looks cool in screenshots but nah, really boring and unimpactful. Floaty and cheap feeling, really slow heavy walking. Poorly thought out default controls, must switch to "pro". AI sucks. No challenge at all. Music is repetitive and pretty bad. Every gun dropped will be a variation of one you already have with slightly different stats. Even the upgrade screen is unnecessarily janky. Oh also the game forces you to do a tutorial, then has loads of talking (??) and then re-explains everything you were just told while ignoring all the other busy garbage. Loads of tiny explanation and stats text in the middle of combat that you may as well just completely ignore. The fat thing doesn't change much anyway.

NOT A CO-OP GAME Despite being incredibly small the game insists on yanking your co-op partner from what they are doing to right next to you, this is bad game design. On top of that the UI is way too big and I had multiple experiences where I had to go behind it to progress in a level. Also spawning the player over a death pit is garbage design. AND DON'T FORCE ME TO PLAY A TUTORIAL!!!

Unfortunately, a rather dull game that doesn't bring the white-knuckle action as advertised. On the surface, the "eating/looting" system is a neat gameplay element but bogs down the game instead of focusing on action like a Metal Slug or Contra game that it aspires to be like. The whole point of run ' gun games is the challenge of surviving a horde of bullets and baddies. This game lacks that purpose and simply tasks you with eating stuff......just to eat them and get new stuff. Disappointing to say the least. The game had great potential.

I tried to give this game a good shot (pun intended). Although eating your enemies is kind of unique, it just didn't appeal to me. It just felt weird, carefully shooting enemies 'just enough' to stun them, then eating them. In practise it just kills your 'momentum' and therefore harms the flow of your game experience. Controls can be a bit awkward, you can choose from two different layouts, but you can't rebind them yourself. Tutorial didn't explain 'dashing straight up', so I almost gave up when I thought I was stuck.

This game _is_ a solid run & gun with good graphics and some interesting mechanics based around eating all enemies. The three counters -calories, protein and fat- are basically three currencies that you use to upgrade your weapons - or that's what I managed to find out so far (I finished first two missions). Thing is - all three decrease as you do stuff in the game. Dash costs few tens of protein, jumps and double jumps cost about 40 fat, and everything costs calories. Now consider that in order to do some weapon upgrades, you pay 1000 (!) fats, few hundred of proteins, and most of enemies give you only between 8-20 fats. There are mayo buckets and protein buckets that immediately upgrade you 'one tier' (ie. 1000x), but - there are also some pickups that simply just _nullify_ these stats! And some are put in really awkward positions so that its hard to avoid them. _MAYBE_ some of them give you something in return, but this leads me to the next problem - I am not really sure what any o...

Just avoid this one. It is not a good 2d side scroller while there are thousand other games like this that are better. The environments are forgettable, the mechanisms make no sense, in general the game gives a feeling of generic-ness....

Bite the Bullet is a cool game with captivating pixel art and interesting mechanics. It can get pretty tedious to progress your character but it's one of the concepts that add up to the game's comedic and niche approach. It can sometimes be punishing if you're not exactly familiar with the controls of the game. I highly recommend it if you are into games like Megaman ZX, Metal Slug and modern platformers. It requires you to respond fast because there's a lot of things happening and the game does not run out of dull moments. I like how it supports ultrawide screens which makes the game more crisp in detail. It's a fair game for the avid platformer gamers, and the background music suits the mood of the game. It offers a wide customization of playstyle because of the skill tree, it can be a bit overwhelming because of the UI animations. The power ups have unique effects to them which somehow gives you an edge every level. My overall experience for the game is good so far, it's nowhere nea...

The game was extremely intriguing and fun when it was first released but it has some issues. Apparently the publisher was holding up the game studio from getting fixes published in proper time. I picked this game back up and it feels like a completely different game. Everything is so incredibly well polished and full of fun new animations, actions, abilities, UIs and sound effscts.

Great game! Very cool art style and soundtracks. There are few bugs on the game itself like on the upgrades tree but doesn't really affect the gameplay directly. Cool concept on a post apocalyptic world where humans resorted to a certain type of "cannibalism" of some sort.

Good SFX and Quality. Game has a good indie game feel to it back in the old days. Definitely would recommend this to people who likes arcade style games. Unique and very cool concept as well
