About This Game

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.

FEATURES

BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT

Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.

STRONG AI

Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.

NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES

The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.

THE CAMPAIGN

You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

The good: designing ships. This is much more of a simulation than WOW. However, the game was abandoned by the developer, and it's unfinished.

I would not recommend anyone pay real money for this game at this price point in its current state. What a missed opportunity. I get this is just, like, my opinion man, but this game is broken. Some things are immediately obviously just busted - like - submarines - other things are dsyfunctional in subtle little ways that you won't notice at first, but will eventually drive you crazy. Unfinished or poorly implemented game features make for consistent disappoints. Watch incoming fire that you are timing to dodge defy the laws of physics and literally curve in to hit your ship. The entire naval combat experience- especially in campaign mode becomes choppy - nearly unplayable at times. Click registration for SIMPLE COMMANDS is flawed. Your terpeders wont freaking fire no matter what you do and there will be NO explaination despite tubes being up and ammo loaded. Your gun crews will re-acquire new targets at random even after telling them to focus on targets that they do not l...

While I did have a lot of fun with this game, I can't recommend it in good faith. The mechanics are janky, the campaign is unfinished, and no further development is being done. Maybe buy on sale if you've got money and a few hours to throw away, and are interested in the subject.

Extremely disappointed in this game. Everything feels pre-alpha, the water physics are laughable, and the calculations are sloppy and inaccurate. I was supper hyped for this game when I bought it years ago, and I liked the regular updates, but then the updates where killed off in 2024. If you're willing to put up with an unfinished game, then go for it. But there are far superior naval games with better water physics and calculations out there now.

The bugged out pitch and roll mechanics basically make it nearly impossible to build a stable ship, even mocking real-life designs not known for instability. Just simply placing basic towers and a funnel on a basic hull is enough to throw the values into yellow or red and nothing you do fixes it. In fact, fiddling with it makes it worse as the bugs accumulate the values rather than recalculating them. Meaning if you move something and then move it back to the same spot, the pitch and roll instability progressively increases. I find myself wanting to find an install of an old version so I can build designs that function as actual ships.

Perhaps the best game since Civ 4. I have not heard an OST like this one in a long time and although not long, it is very well done. Bravo to Game Labs and thank you for putting time and effort into this game.

Development is dead. The game will not be finished. This is what everyone is warning you about when early access games come up. It is a good concept with a lot of good assets. It is almost there. Another year and some more development funding would have made it great. But that won't happen. I bought in early and enjoyed the journey, but we didn't get there. I wish the devs well wherever they may be working now and hope this experience makes the industry better.
