I absolutely love this game. I have always wondered how these sorts of machines are controlled in real life so when I saw Northernlion playing this, I bought it pretty much instantly. BH Trials is an obstacle course game, where you navigate a "backhoe loader", as I've learned these are called, through a path riddled with all manners of different obstacles. The only problem is, that the only way of movement is manipulating the loader and the backhoe arm. The wheels roll but that's about it, you can't actually drive or steer the machine in a normal fashion. Because of this, BH Trials might well be one of the highest skill-ceiling games of this type there is. Using a controller, I would say, is extremely recommended (keyboard/mouse is available of course, but I haven't tried it) if only because it actually mimicks the real-life controls of these machines, where the arm is manipulated with two joysticks. The game can be very hard and frustrating but I've never felt like it's due to the ...

About This Game
Solo Player: The trials
BH Trials’ single player mode features a series of increasingly difficult levels, designed to try both your dexterity and your wit. You will drive and climb and crawl, manipulating all kinds of platforms and mechanisms and avoiding devious contraptions, all while trying to reach the end as fast as possible to unlock new levels and game modes.
Multiplayer: The Spider
The star of BH Trials’ multiplayer levels is four-legged Backhoe Spider. Up to four players can control this beast, either on a single computer or online through Steam Together, pitting their teamwork skills against some of the game’s most treacherous climbs. Note: It’s also possible to play these levels alone -if you’re up to the extra challenge!

Collectibles Galore
Hidden in every level is a miniature digger, roaming around in the most unexpected, hard to reach spots. Collecting these toys rewards you with new game modes and Multiplayer areas, so it pays off to keep your eyes peeled and your ears sharp.
Leaderboards
BHT includes both friend and global leaderboards so you can measure your skills against players worldwide. Let the games begin!
Ghost in the Machine
BHT keeps track of your best performances and stores them as a ghost that you can summon when you replay levels. Compete against yourself to improve your times, get the three stars and make it into the worldwide rankings!
You are in Control
BH Trials supports all kinds of inputs, from keyboard and mouse to pads (Xbox, PS2, PS3, and PS4 native), and even the Steel Battalion Controller. If you take on the challenge, we’ll make sure you do it on your own terms.

Having a good time so far with the cooperative spider mode. A big challenge that takes patience and cooperation (for multiplayer). I recommend giving it a go especially if you like games like I am bread. Check out our struggle here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDaJHNAQ9jA
Really cool and original game!
This game feels like learning to walk after suffering a stroke. At first your movement will be uncontrolled and you will flail your limbs about the place helplessly. But soon you'll get the hang of it and instead stumble about like a drunken toddler. Great fun! There is quite a bit of content and extra challenge, as each level offers a collectible and a highscore list where you can try to beat the times of your quadriplegic fellows. Some levels are insanely hard and the highscore lists at later stages have very few entries. I really wish this game would be more popular, it would be well deserved.
Surprisingly difficult, yet fun. Would recommend
Randomly put this on with friends. Spent 30+ minutes just trying to beat the first co-op level which is to go just in a straight line. 10/10
Great Tricky game! Got this game solely as it had Steel Battalion controller support (see the developers medium page for driver and install guide) Playing the game with the controller is brilliant fun! if you have a steel Battalion controller, a usb convert and love a challenge definitely buy this game!
It was already hard but the newest update made it almost impassible but I still love the game.
love the ISO controls, pls add first person pov and or vr support
A Difficult but satisfying puzzle game. If you like backhoes this game is for you, I was missing mine from a few years ago and it was just like old times, but without gas or brakes. Definitely a good value for the money. I didn't buy the music pack, so I don't know if it's worth buying or not.
