Evil West is a sci-fi third-person shooter that blends the grit of a western sheriff with the thrill of a vampire hunter, creating a unique reimagining of the genre. The story was solid, and the gameplay was like a mix between Red Dead Redemption 2 and Vampyr. Overall, the game was amazing, though I initially expected it to be an open world rather than a linear story. Nonetheless, it was a great experience. 8.5/10

Lore was rich in the beginning and middle but hard to follow at the end, it felt as if they just tossed in a bunch of stuff to ensure they covered all their basis I guess. Game play was spotty when co opping, single play was extremely difficult on regular mode as they just tossed as many baddies as they could at you the closer you got to the end. For sure felt as if they lost the plot at the end. Only spent $15 and am very much feeling "you get what you pay for" vibes.
Not the game of the year, but we need more game like this. More good linear games. 7/10 - 10 hour to complete.
Boring console trash. Do not believe the videos on the game page. Just do not buy it.
This game was outdated 20 years before it released. It feels like an early 2000s game, in the worst possible way. There's way too much handholding and you're not allowed to do any thinking yourself, everything is handed to you or forced upon you. Playing it coop was also rather messy with the non-host having weird graphic glitches and teleporting enemies. Not to mention both players have the exact same character appearance and you have to wait for your co-op partner to do basic things like climbing a rope or jumping a fence. The writing is terrible and full of cliches, and not in an amusing way.
Evil West doesn’t try to hide its true nature: it’s all about combat—brutal, relentless, and satisfying. The story is serviceable but far from original, with plot developments that are easy to predict if you pay even slight attention. That said, narrative twists are not the reason to pick up this game. The heart of the experience lies in its combat design. Maps are carefully built as small arenas—some straightforward, others more complex and at times exhausting—where players must use both the environment and the deep skill and upgrade system to their advantage. With the right mix of timing and strategy, it’s possible to chain together devastating combos that elevate the gameplay beyond simple button-mashing. What makes Evil West stand out is its adaptability. The game caters equally well to players who enjoy fast, frantic action as well as those who prefer a more tactical approach to combat. This flexibility ensures that no matter your style, Evil West delivers an engaging ...
Evil West Review – Cowboy vs. Vampires Evil West is the kind of game that feels ripped straight from the 360 era—in the best and worst ways. You’re Jesse Rentier, a grumpy cowboy with an electrified punch and enough guns to turn vampires into gooey confetti. The combat is chunky, over-the-top fun: smack a monster into spikes, blast it mid-air, then finish with a lightning fist. It’s dumb, loud, and satisfying. The problem? It’s also samey. Levels are straight hallways, enemy variety runs thin, and the story is basically “vampires bad, cowboy mad.” Still, the pulpy vibe, crunchy brawls, and gory finishers keep it entertaining for a weekend. Score: 7/10 – A good, brain-off monster mash. Fun while it lasts, forgettable once it’s done.
The first ten hours of this game were extremely fun and made the entire purchase worth it alone. The combo of this fun fantasy aesthetic and the campy story/characters is very unique and well executed. My only issue is that as the game goes on, the only way the difficulty scales is through additional enemies spawning into each arena. I think I stopped playing either on the last or second to last mission, but when I walked into an arena and saw nearly a dozen enemies that all require their own hyper-specific way of defeating them, I just put down the controller because of how repetitive the big non-boss fights became.
Didn't the achievement pop up after completing the game on evil difficulty Other achievements didn't pop up, that's fine. But this one ? so you want me to redo it? Don't buy this shit if you want all the achievements. It's full of bugs.
