Banana Blitz HD was originally hated because back when it came out in 2019, people wanted a remake of the original Super Monkey Ball games and Sega hinged that on Banana Blitz HD's success. But that is ancient history, you can choose Banana Blitz or Banana Mania, and I don't think its fair to just judge the game based on that. Most people are either going to want to play Banana Blitz HD for nostalgia or to scratch that Super Monkey Ball itch after playing all the other titles. I fall into the latter category and I'm very mixed on the game. I'm warming up to the art style (I particularly like Smooth Sherbet and Cobalt Caverns) and the music is great, with both tracks from the original Super Monkey Ball games and from Touch & Roll. And it does occasionally scratch that Super Monkey Ball itch, but I do mean occasionally! The first few worlds are way too easy, the stages themselves don't get challenging until World 7 (Volcanic Pools) and even then they don't reach the heights of the ...
