About This Game

Journey to the mysterious land of Aellion in an open-world fantasy epic!

Adventure in Aellion invites you to venture forth and discover a land brimming with secrets - but beware: danger may be lurking where you least expect it...

As an ancient evil threatens the very existence of Aellion itself, team up or go it alone to creep through dungeons, fight monstrous enemies, solve puzzles, and uncover hidden treasures. This vast land is yours to explore as you wish. Will you become its hero?

With a huge open world, Adventure in Aellion is brimming with secrets. Take to horseback and travel to its farthest corners, or light a torch and prepare to fend off whatever lurks in a dark and deadly dungeon. The initial Early Access release includes one region of Aellion, with three dungeons to complete!

Adventure in Aellion can be played entirely alone - but you can also team up with friends to explore this world and fight the ancient evil together, with smooth drop-in/drop-out co-operative play online. Work together to solve a tricky puzzle, or protect each other in battle.

As you venture through the land of Aellion, you’ll uncover tools and treasures, take on exciting quests, fend off monsters with melee and ranged combat, and unlock new areas by tackling devilish conundrums. There’s a whole world to discover - and to save.

Do you have what it takes to become the hero of Aellion?

Alright then, so here's what so far and do keep in mind that this IS AN EARLY ACCESS GAME. However, I'd like to point out a few things so far from my.. Well, less than an hour of gameplay thus far and I will give it more time than that. There seem to be no actual sense of direction in the game to begin with. I'm sure it's straight forward for the people that created it, but for someone who just started, it can be hard to navigate as to where you're supposed to go. What happened first for me was that I ran into a fog-wall, which was semi-disappointed as I was hoping for a massive ACTUAL open world game. HOWEVER, it is still in Early Access and it could be fixed later and this could be one way for the devs to say "Hey, go this way instead". I managed to find a tower with some quite interesting puzzles. Not very hard, but hard enough for a first time around. I'm sure they get harder further in. So I suggest an easy to navigate and find quest-log and a bit more of "in depth" tutorial. M...

A barely-functional thing disguised as a game, Adventures in Aellion would best be avoided. There's not been an actual content update in a little over two years barring Mac support added about a year ago. Developers are MIA. Current content can be experienced in under an hour provided your character doesn't bug into the ground or a wall like mine did. There's also the possibility your Options menus will bug out and overlap requiring a Task Manager shutdown of the game. One of the last screenshots on the store page shows a group of horses staring off over a misty valley in the setting sun. That scene can be recreated but the assumption that clearly visible open world's accessible is utterly wrong. You'll go galloping down the other side of that hill and run smack into an invisible wall. In actuality there's a small stretch of woodland to one side of the starting castle you can run around as well as a couple separate combat scenes you can load into. That's it. Pretty sad. No wonder this...

This game has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where it goes. However, as stated by others when you start you have no clear direction as to what you are supposed to be doing. I found talking with the NPC's helps but with no compass or signs, it's hard to know if you're going in the right direction once you leave the tower. There is no reward for combat except to say you killed something, with that being said there are a lot of hiccups when equiping items from you inventory or when in battle, example not being able swing your sword. So yeah it's early in development, I like the art style, movement and horse riding are good, and I hope to see good updates in the future. I will continue to play as I want to reach some of the bigger monsters shown. Also I would like to ask the developers for some type of background music as you move through the world. It feels so empty and quiet with the rush of wind or howling wolf every once in awhile. Just a suggestion. Ok, with 3 hours in I'm...

I was in single player mode. Lock-on mechanic feels weird. When I got to fight the 3 goblins in the very first level, the game acted like it was locking on since it had the arrow over the enemy's head, but my attacks didn't attack toward the direction of the enemy at all. On top of that, when I got hit while locking-on, I lost the ability to use my sword. I still had my sword, but it wouldn't swing or do anything anytime I clicked. I also couldn't pause halfway through the time I played. When you push a block using E, it automatically starts pushing forward, rather than just grabbing it. The last issue isn't that important for me, but the first two issues are game-breaking.

With just a few hours of game play I love how charming this game is. I can already see it is a game that has the potential to please everyone, gamer or not. I love the fact that you can customise your character, explore the world, ride horses, solve puzzles, and go a little off trail. I can't wait to play more. From my first play when it came out to now, I can already see so many improvements so I'm looking forward to the further development of Adventure in Aellion. Some improvements needed but that's inevitable with early access games. I will be playing some more! I can't wait to see what is to come from the developers.

Save yourself the trouble, this game is 100% abandoned by the devs. Game showed promise several years ago, but bug reports were blown off in their discord channel. Last message from the Devs in the Discord was from December 6, 2022. I haven't left the DC channel in hopes that they'd eventually come back. Will update review if they ever respond to anything, but even their official website has had no activity in years. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME

The game is clearly still in development! But I like what I see so far :) Gorgeous environments, I love the low-poly art style and how it shines in the sprawling dungeons. Looks like theres monthly updates, so theres clearly work going on here to add more content (and hopefully round out the clunky combat) Can't go wrong with it on sale!

This seems like a lot of fun! The art style is right up my street and I found it very easy to lose myself in the game, even though I haven't even explored everything there is to see yet. I love the idea of adventuring with friends so I can't wait to try that too but exploring on my own has been lots of fun so far. I love the freedom of being able to roam around, solve the puzzles and unravel the story at my own pace. I understand this is a small dev team and the game is ever evolving but I'm impressed with what is here so far and look forward to seeing what happens next. There's obviously the odd bug here and there but the team have been very responsive and take the players' feedback on board which I appreciate. I've just downloaded the most recent update so will update this review if there's anything more to mention.

I played a bit solo and was kind of fun when mechanics worked, when the items you can use worked etc it is fun. I spent my most time riding around the world which is relaxing but there's a barrier stopping you from going too far out but playable area is good for now. Art is pretty and I liked the dungeon I went to but the game very much needs work. That's why I say when mechanics worked. Sometimes the sword won't swing or bow missed a easy target. In menus, settings do not save, cannot change audio etc basic options games should have, this game needs saving option. I will try to play multiplayer, looks like multiplayer option is more for with friends than strangers. Game is promising, I enjoy seeing games go from early development to full game and community tab shows frequent updates so I'm hopeful and I will update review when more updates come out that fix problems! +Art +World +Puzzles -Bugs -Not much content (yet?)
