I really wanted to love this game and kept coming back to it in the hope that I'd like it more if I was in the right mood, but it just doesn't work. It's like 75% cut scenes and player-restrictive animations and 25% actual play. It's absolutely maddening how much waiting this games expects of a player. Every time you go to a new island, there's a cut scene with voice over, and then there's an animation of your ship's dock unfolding where you can't move, and after you get off, there's another animation where you can't move as it folds back up. There are so many pointless little animations where you're frozen where you stand! You should be able to walk away if you want to. It absolutely ruins the pacing of the game, and I've finally accepted that I'm not interested in finishing. I just got the Chapter 2 Completed achievement shortly before I wrote this review, and it says only 34% of players get that. I haven't even beaten the game yet but I LOVE EVERYTHING, the narrators voice actress is great, the art style is beautiful. The only gripe I have with it is the cut scenes pacing is a bit slow and they should let Mo move around when there's a small piece of dialogue but other than that Would recommend.
