About This Game

Superliminal is a first-person puzzle game based on forced perspective and optical illusions. Puzzles in this game give you a sense of the unexpected. Players need to change their perspective and think outside the box to wake up from the dream.

WAKE UP

As you fall asleep with the TV on at 3AM, you remember catching a glimpse of the commercial for Dr. Pierce’s Somnasculpt dream therapy program. By the time you open your eyes, you’re already dreaming - beginning the first stages of this experimental program.

PERCEPTION IS REALITY

Explore a dream world where everything is exactly as it seems. Tread carefully as the world slowly unravels around you and subverts your expectations. What you see isn’t always precisely what you get.

MAN VS MACHINE

In this fully-voiced adventure, Dr Glenn Pierce is doing his questionable best to guide you home and out of the dreamscape. His artificial intelligence assistant, however, is having trouble understanding exactly how you’re here at all, and has other plans for you.

DEVELOPER COMMENTARY

We’ve added an extensive developer commentary throughout the game, so you can learn the secrets and history behind the game’s development.

CHALLENGE MODE

The overwhelming response from the speedrunning community to Superliminal inspired us to add a new Challenge Mode, which will score you per-level on metrics such as time to finish, grabs, and jumps.

EXPERIMENTAL WORKSHOP SUPPORT

Superliminal features Steam Workshop integration. Bring any 3D object into the game and play around with mind-bending perspective tricks.

One of those unique mind bending puzzle games, based on neat visual tricks with perspectives, combined with a well executed atmosphere and audio design. Even reminded me of Portal from time to time. The main story isn't very long, but there's plenty of interesting extras (like challenges and developer commentary) to keep you hooked for a while

Massively creative and tricky puzzles. Super easy and limited controls - yet the game manages to feel very deep. It doesn't give anything away and makes you feel like a genius each time you solve a room! Only 3 hours deep but can already recommend.

A lovely game. Gameplay - did you tried to "break" the Portal game? I mean did you try to throw a portal inside of the portal to see what will happen? If so - you would enjoy the gameplay. I enjoyed it a lot. Music - just lovely. Story - very nice. I don't want to spoil it, but the ending is lovely too (just as the game in general). 10/10

Recommended on discount, not full price. Feels more like a tech demo inspired by the Portal series rather than a fully fledged game. The concept is undoubtedly cool, and is fun to mess around with the first few levels, but it loses its allure rather quickly. The main story can be beaten in about two hours. Most puzzles are ridiculously easy, and some aren't even really puzzles, rather the game developers trying to supplant your expectations. That being said there absolutely were moments where I was genuinely impressed with the game design and gameplay mechanics, particularly when it came to perspective. Overall, I'd only recommend this if you're getting it for under $10.

"Perspective is reality." Superliminal meshes its mechanics with its message (and dry humour) to make for a pleasantly unique experience. It is as conducive to speedrunning as it is to collectors; the game is teeming with extra collectibles off of the beaten path, provided you do what most gamers do not:
look up.
Cool, but gets stale and walking-sim esque at times.

I love the theme behind it and think the puzzles are done well.
