If you're a fan of Digimon you will enjoy this game, but even if you're not there's still a lot to like. Honestly with it being an almost decade-old game I was still pleasantly surprised with a lot of the features in this game, though I was also occasionally surprised by the features it lacked. The game has kind of a slow start, and this slowness applies both to the story and gameplay, but once you progress just a bit you can easily get hooked. Story-wise, it gets way more engaging about halfway through and this is where you really start to appreciate the game as a whole. The variety of digimon are good and I thought the gameplay mechanics were entertaining enough even though they dont go as in-depth as other JRPGs. My only main gripe for a sizeable portion of the game is I wished we got to explore the Digital World more or a wider variety of environments in general. This is a unique Digimon game in which you can explore many areas of Tokyo, which is really cool at first but loses...

10/10 Wonderful collection! First of all, thank you so much for releasing this game for PC, Bandai Namco! Of all the Digimon games I've played on PC (well, there are only three at the moment), this one is the best. I took a long break because I wanted to work through my pile of unplayed games by playing other games that don't take longer than 20 hours. However, when Digimon Story Time Stranger got announced, I was really excited. Before it comes out on October 3, 2025, I have to play through this game first, even though Time Stranger tells a completely new story. I've already pre-ordered Time Stranger and am looking forward to playing the game. This collection is very extensive. The Main Story Mode takes about 30 to 50 hours per game. I love JRPGs with monster taming elements. This game is similar to the Persona games in terms of gameplay. If you're currently disappointed with Pokémon, please give Digimon a chance. You'll definitely love it. I guarantee it. Digi evolution an...
I had never played any Digimon games before, I loved ! This marks my entry into the franchise...
You need to be a big Digimon fan to enjoy these games. Sadly they get very little right technically, mechanically and story-wise. Starting off with the technical side: The port is horrible. Locked to 60 fps, can't change settings until you pick a game, said settings do not apply to the main menu of the game so you get blasted with the menu song at 100% volume every time you open the game, the control scheme is horrible and the mouse functionality is nonexistant (you can click to accept but your cursor won't select options). Mechanically, battles are a slog. If you play on "normal" mode, you can clear most stuff with basic attacks (with some hp-sponge bosses from time to time), while hard mode is just hp sponge galore. Battle balance is awful, the mix of defense-penetrating attacks and high defense digimons renders most endgame mons useless because you'll be tickling bosses in lategame if you aren't using def-pen skills (you can download the Ultimate Digimon Pack mod for more vari...
Big fan of the game, I've gotten hundreds of hours on it between steam and my console files. Steam needs to update details. Game is shown not supported for steam deck. That couldn't be further from the truth. On my desktop the game continuously crashed for me in Chapter 15 whenever i entered the final boss for chapt dungeon. Unplayable.. I thought i would try my Steam deck, I was able to keep playing and clear two more chapters and more! no bugs at all!
Jesus its finally over, god that was horrible, i just finished Cyber Sleuth right now and god was it boring, i tried once and dropped the game because it was grindy as hell. But ever since Time Stranger was announced i was ithcing to play a digimon game so i decided to finish once and for all. Im playing on Linux and at the time i had a nasty bug at Kowloon Lv. 2 that crash the game when i entered a battle. so the only way to progress was by save scumming yay. i eventually got frustated about having to mash the A button everytime the game crashed so I downloaded a mod to skip dialogue i've seen. Also another mod that fixes the exp curve and grindiness of the game. if it werent for that i would have send this game to oblivion. even with these mod the gameplay was terrible, when i digivolved the game wouldnt register that i knew that digimon so the only way to dedigivolve was by download a cheat table and to have all digimon as know yay. this cheat table also had a movement speed cheat ...
Cyber Sleuth is a game that's kind of contingent on you caring about Digimon. If you don't, you're better off just going to play SMT or Casette Beasts or something if you're looking for a good, standalone creature-focused RPG. That being said, as far as fanservice games go it could be VASTLY worse than Cyber Sleuth, and in many ways it still feels like a much more enjoyable experience that was more impactful to me than the obvious comparison in the room (Pokemon). I'm not here to tell the story in these games is amazing. It is goofy, cliche, occasionally has some stupid or outright kind of gross character work (there are multiple all-but-confirmed gay characters whose existence seems to be a punchline), but by god does it have heart. A mixture of hilarious moments, this whole gonzo plotline in both games that features incredible amounts of rule of cool virtual reality insanity, and a couple of actually well-handled concepts like Erika and Ryuji's relationship in Hacker's Memory manage...
Beautiful story, great monster collection and raising mechanics. Reignited my love for Digimon! Definitely pick it up on sale because it drops super low! PS. Warning it'll make you cry
