I really wish I could recommend this, I think with a proper translation it would be fine. But man it's incomprehensible most of the time. It can't even keep the main character's pronouns straight and it makes things confusing when it flip flops midsentence that you're a "he" then a "she". And it even has that issue with some other characters too which makes it all the more confusing. The art is not the best out there, but it's fine. They updated the game years after release to include the patchless nudity, but it still has mosaics on the one CG with genitals on it. I get it, it's Japanese law so whatever. It just stinks that this issue exists at all. I think that they updated the game after so long is commendable which makes it all the more difficult to not recommend it. Especially given how cheap the game is. The music I liked. I wouldn't say it's outright good, it's just pleasant to listen. Which is pretty important while you stare blankly at the translation. The developer said it ...

Melting Pot lacks considerably in translation. Some parts of the menu are not translated at all, and the story seems written by using a bad autotranslation tool. After trying to keep up with the story but quickly losing interest due to the considerable number of misspellings and crappy syntax, I skipped the rest. The art is done nicely. Nothing special, but standart manga style. The game seems to need a patch to start. It can be found here: http://magichouse.uh-oh.jp/kyapion.html The patch has to be in the game folder (just open your local files via steam and paste it in there). Still, it is far from the worst/expensive VN I ever saw. I will recommend it. Maybe if the translation is revised, it will be an enjoyable game altogether.
The awful translations made for one of the funniest experiences I've had in the last month. Perfect for a late night on a Discord call with friends.
So the story is short and cute. There are three routes, and Ive only played through one, but i really enjoyed it despite the bad translation. It is readable enough that I found myself trying to figure out how to word it better lol. But since Im not 100% sure of the writers meaning with everything that was written, i could not be sure my translation would be any better (other than easier to read ;p) Also the art, while not the best fit the game well. The music was calming instrumentals, a nice touch i think for the mood. Now on to the bad, first of all the Patch Link. My virus scanner didnt like me opening the page it linked to, though i bravely pushed forward and went to the page anyway. There's nothing there but two game patches, and the one for the game was about 200mb in size and was slow to down load. I scanned the downloaded file and it was declared safe. Then i installed it as directed by putting it in the game folder. And of course the game wouldnt play. It does add a...
Thanks to the latest update to the game, I'm actually able to play it! It's sad, that the translation is so horrible. Because Melting Pot is actually a really cute and interesting game, even if it is a bit on the short side. I really like it and I hope that, one day, there will be another update to overhaul the translation. I recommend the game to any hardcore BL or Visual Novel fan. Might not be the kind of game for casual gamers, though, who expect a certain 'standard', I guess.
I wish this game had a proper translation. Melting pot is a pretty good Visual Novel. The artwork was nice, but only 800x600. Which isn't an issue; If played Windowed. Even the story seems to be rather alright. But sadly: It's really hard to understand it. There are some weird translations in here. Very broken english, which is unfortunate. And It came out in 2011, that is a decade. Hm, why didn't they fix the grammar yet? A decade old novel with awful translation. Yea, It probably wasn't profitable enough. Otherwise, I dunno why it still isn't fixed? It is a cheap game, I enjoyed playing this. Would I recommend it, though? Well, no. There are better yaoi novels you can get. Why bother with a poorly translated one. The sole point of visual novels is the text. Badly translated visual novel is really sad.
I didn't make it particularly far in this. The translation is super rough, it's definitely not machine translated, but it's also not done by someone with a lot of experience in English. I poked through the files to see if I could find the text and redraft it for shits and giggles, but the text is encoded so helping to redraft it isn't possible. If you can make it through, more power to you, but I cannot.
Game is not too bad but the translation is.... something else.
The translation is an unfortunate word salad at times. Confusingly, sometimes the wrong gender pronouns are used - I guess from the bad translation. The story can be hard to follow at times, but it is a sweet story all the same. I should give a bad review for the translation, but I can't bring myself to do it since I liked the art, music, and story. I was only able to unlock 73% of the Collections (images), but I played through all story branches. Not sure what went wrong.
Not My "Pot" Of Tea, but the artwork is great. Maybe its the translations or maybe its boy love nature.
