A simple, enjoyable and laid back RPG
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning is a straightforward RPG with easy to understand (bur limited) character builds, a focus on fae and an astounding amount of bloated content.
Pros:
- Combat is enjoyable and simple. *Even with my upcoming criticism, I felt like the power fantasy was enjoyable most of the time. - The world is focused on Faes, which is a part of fantasy that is rarely exploited to its fullest potential. Faes are at the center of this story and they are also the most enjoyable race/npcs to meet and understand. - The presentation is nostalgic, reminding me a little of a classic WoW and Fable 1. - Considering that I do not consider this a game focused on the story, the main story was suprisingly interesting for a classic hero's quest. It was on par with something in a good MMO. - The variety of weapon is great and they all feel impactful. - Easy and accessible respec, ahead of its time.
Neutral:
- The music i...

You rise from the dead through a magical Well of Souls, ready to change fate itself… and immediately get roped into helping villagers. The combat was kind of fun. It’s the best part of the game and still somehow not great. Oh, and if I see one more chest, I might scream. I don’t need 27 pairs of slightly-different pants, thanks. Amalur somehow manages to be both solid and deeply annoying.

I'm a natural fan of RPG games so playiing this remastered version of a loved game was amazing, it's very easy to get lost in the sheer volume of side quests as you attempt to unlock the world as you attempt to complete the main game The story line itself isn't like most RPGs I have played in the past which makes me want o keep playing it as get the main game done as quickly as possible but without the best equipment (with a massive aid of crafting my own gear) i was able to get to a high enough level where I didn't have to heal myself with healing potions every five minutes and being able to clear out my backpacks mid dungeon was also a great help I do recommend you choose which path you want to go down (warrior, rogue or mage) early on in the game and stick to it as that makes life easy despite some of the insane acheievements you can get in this game Having spent 40 hours playing this I know I have a lot of side quests still to do to get a 100% completion on this game and ...

Played this entirely on Steam deck. No issues at all. Game itself is an improvement on the original but didnt address flaws. Lots of fetch quests and running. Game gets really repetitive and easy quite quickly too. If you're not a completionist, this will be a fun enough experience. I am though and I found it really tedious once I got the end game. --{Steam Deck performance}-- -Settings adjustments needed- *None- x *Minor- *Moderate- *Extensive- *Total Overhaul- -SD Performance with optimised settings- *Perfect-x *Runs really well - *Runs well- *Rough but playable- *Rough, borderline unplayable- *This game is not suitable for Deck- --{ Graphics }--- *Visual Masterpiece- *Beautiful- *Good- *Unremarkable but fine-x *Noticeably bad- *Hideously ugly- ---{ Gameplay }--- -I forgot to sleep all week- -Very enjoyable- -Fun to play- -Didn't hate it -x -Dull at times- -A tedious experience- -This game sucks to play- ---{ Audio }--- *They should win a Grammy for this- *Very good to listen t...

I remember finishing this game all those years ago on the 360, and I had to buy it again here. The updates look good, the game still plays well, and I adore the world and adventure.
