While the premise inherintly leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I found myself enjoying the game enough to quickly get over it. Colorful and dynamic with lots of replay value

Even better than the original. This game does a great job of creating a true sense of adventure and is a challenging resource management game. The combat system remains similar to the original and requires that you carry the right weapons and equip them for the right battles. You don't want to fight skeletons with weapons that cause bleeding because they are immune and you don't want to battle giant creatures that are immune to stun with a club. You will really get the feeling that your choices made the difference when you succeed or fail in a given adventure and that's really what I like most about my favorite games. I should mention that this game does engage the paradigm of taking relics and treasures from an indigenous people and bringing those treasures home for profit. If you can deal with that as part of the theme, then the game will be enjoyed. I'll also mention that you have the option not to plunder the shrines and crypts and sacred sites in the game, which might make it a...

I'm not sure what to say here. The exploration aspect is hindered by an interesting time limit, so the gameplay is just learning systems & dealing with the RNG, like many other games. The variety here is interesting, with a caveat There are many ways to experience the difficulty. I went with Lunatic without permadeath, so I held on to most of my initial characters, but I also learned about some ways they can be lost. I even traded to rescue one of my lost characters from a village. I also learned which things you can and cannot keep after giving up an expedition (You cannot give up expeditions in director mode, be careful!) The writing is decent; it's good at describing the large variety of things your characters will experience. The caveat is that when you get good enough to handle Lunatic Director Mode, the gameplay & events get repetitive, even if you switch to focusing on a different backer. The only thing I haven't tried is intentionally sabotaging my characters to try out more...

It's so so, basically you're the captain lead your whole team explore new places. The plot is averaged to me, don't expect too much on it. The game play is easy but not too easy, luck driven. A bit mixed between resource + time management + choices; There are interesting dynamic events based your sanity level in the game. Still rec the game, worth the price, the DLCs are also okay. 7/10 to me.

a good game that has random elements but isn't overly reliant on random. travel around procedurally generated islands, encounter friends and foes, trade, steal, and/or fight how you chose to approach each situation is up to you and most approaches are valid though some pay better then others in the right circumstance. Will you remove the golden idol from a ruin, knowing it will level a nearby village? will you help local islanders recover lost items? will you poach an elephant, you monster?
