Was cool back when I got it (still bad but cool), I can't get it to stop crashing before I get to the gameplay now.

Probably the best game out of the series (alongside the PS2 classics i mean)

Unpopular opinion: It is a good side-game for the EDF Series and I would want a sequel. EDF Score: 8/10 Is it a good game for the EDF baseline? Yes. It does a lot of fun little things in the incredibly short run time compared to most EDF titles. Around 30 hours it took me to beat. Gameplay: It's a bit floaty with the aiming, but is pretty close control-wise to regular EDF games. Where it splits are the classes and how the guns work side by side. It actually breaks the pre-existing system to where you were locked to specific guns for specific classes. I don't mind that as an EDF trait, but am not a fan of it in games overall. So this was something that was welcome to me. Being said, it changed fundamentally how the classes worked and did different things with them. Which, for me, was a net positive, but for a lot of people; will hate it. The last thing to note would be the newest and honestly, kinda neat mechanic. Overcharge. It permits you to boost your firing speed, reload, movement...

this game is soooo good! so many improvements over the normal edf series

This isn't quite classical Earth Defense Force, but it's still pretty similar to classical EDF. It's less slapstick, but comedy is still present. It's just more cynical comedy. Also the PA-Gear is all very cool, and the encounter design feels like it expects you to pick PA-Gear to suit the mission.
