A good game; fun and runs extremely well on Vive pro with NO ISSUES. I highly recommend this game. A game with good graphics and interesting puzzles. The Puzzles are not that difficult to do but some may have you thinking. I am still playing the game; have not finished it yet....but wanted to write a review to dispel the one negative review that is posted below. Not sure what his problem is nor what game he is reviewing but it definitely is not a review of this game. Price is right and if you enjoy adventure type games with an interesting story, I know you will like this game. UPDATE: Just finished the game..game time 4 hours (actual game time was just under 3 hours). I really enjoyed this game and how it ended....overall excellent VR game. **American developers need to take a close look at this game as it is one of the best VR games I have played in the last year. Challenging but not too challenging and not like a lot of other VR games that are simply sub-standard!

About This Game

Journey For Elysium is a story-driven VR game inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. Players will take on the role of an unnamed hero who has passed away. He finds himself on a boat in the Underworld trapped between life and death. In order to reach Elysium and obtain redemption, the mysterious traveller must use all his wits and skills in a series of increasingly elaborate twists and challenges. Along the way, he will discover more about his past.
Key features:
Art style: enjoy the black and white art style inspired by the paintings of Gustave Doré. The high contrast art style fits best in recreating the desired atmosphere of the underworld. In addition, you will find golden highlights here and there, which will guide you further along the way.
Puzzles: Journey for Elysium brings back the excitement of classic adventures games of the 90’s and revamps them for a new era. Look for clues and solve an increasingly complex range of puzzles, challenges and tests to move the story forward.

A lot to discover: immerse yourself in a rich world, grounded between history and myth. Explore breathtaking environments and unravel surprising facts of the Classical antiquity. Connect with your senses to this VR storytelling experience.
Mechanics: travel on the river Styx and explore the underworld with the rowing mechanic, the most important travelling method in the game. This natural way of transportation feels very comfortable and immersive.
Two modes: when you are not rowing, you can experience two different ways of moving around. The Immersive Mode lets you walk through the world via the analog controls, whereas the Comfort Mode lets you teleport around the world to avoid any VR motion sickness for people prone to it.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME MANY ISSUES AND SHADY DEVS Let's begin with the techincal aspect, this game released on 01.11.2019 exclusive to Steam does not support the Valve Index. If you guys thought someone doing a Steam Exclusive title would support the Steam VR Headset, you are wrong. All other Reviews are FAKE ! I spotted this game once it came out, and within 5 minutes 5 keyreviews showed up. Ranging from 4 - 75 hours ingame time. All of these people were part of the dev team like testers, but did not clarify this on the review, they made it look like legit reviews. Those people even commented each others review with stuff like "Oh great review you made me buy this game" but they already owned it because they got it from the dev for free.. No of those reviews was marked as "received the key free" neither it was marked as dev reviews. When i complained on the Review with almost 100 hours gametime on a game released for 30 minutes, all of the devs friends protected it and say hes ...
A stunning looking VR game that makes you feel like you're in a medieval painting of the underworld. The gameplay is good, solve puzzles to hear more of your memories and continue your journey through the underworld. Quick Video review: https://youtu.be/b5XGNXNM7nE I really dug the paddling of the boat to take you through the world and the use of musical notes to unlock areas was a nice touch. The artwork is what get s you though as it's only black and white apart from memories. It's just a beautiful place to be, especially in VR. Priced right and buy if you enjoyed the Talos principle and Obduction, Had some problems with shuttering and motion smoothing took over, lowered SS and seemed to help but may need optimisation for lower-spec rigs. Overall it's a buy from me and happy I did.
If you are prone to motion sickness, beware of the boat ride! Sadly I couldn't not handle it and had to refund the game because of it. I only played for 17 minutes and then I had to lay down for an hour because I felt so nauseous (yes I'm a lightweight!!) Otherwise I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the graphics and being immersed in the Underworld. I was playing on a Quest2 with a link cable with no difficulties. I'm just writing this review to my fellow motion sickness sufferers :)
That FUCKING BOAT!
The game starts with you walking off the edge of a cliff for no reason, and uses touchpad controls ONLY to turn (this isn't good enough on the Index controllers. The thumbstick does even do anything. turning could have easily been bound to that too!) All of that could be excused, if it were not for that fucking boat. It's unresponsive, frustrating controls try to be realistic, but just end up being frustrating when it thinks you're turning and you have to paddle round half the lake to try to get back to the goal. It was so boring and frustrating that I quit.
A brief, yet unique adventure on the river Styx and into the underworld shows to be a worthwhile and heartfelt journey. GRAPHICS Graphics are superb and are the best I have ever seen, hands down! The black and white nature of this game with some effects being golden and yellow fit the game's mood and themes very well. 2/2 Music/Sound Effects The music in this game is average and shows to be unique and awe-inspiring in later segments of the game. Sound effects are average as there is a nice musical instrument that you will acquire on your journey, which sounds great. There is also a nice bow and arrow weapon which is fun to use due to the satisfying sound effects. 1/2 Storyline/Bugs Storyline is great and is quite interesting, but has a slow start. However, once the story gets going, you are there for the adventure. The ending is amazing! There are small bugs in the game such as one in one of the final chapters of the game in which there is some map clipping in the sky. However,...
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/KMQhGW2TXEc This is a nice game for what it is at this price. It's a narrative-driven adventure game. It's got some rowing your boat, playing a lyre, archery, platforming, and some puzzle solving (mostly finding objects, moving objects, or going through a maze). However, the action is all secondary to the story. It took me exactly 2 hours to beat the game. I don't want to give out spoilers, but basically you're dead and you're re-living key moments in your life. You find out that maybe certain things that happened, weren't what they seemed to be. The story is alright, but due to the shortness of the game, is not fleshed out very well. The voice overs are adequate, but don't really stand out. Of course, given the budget price, it's kind of par for the course. The writing misses the mark at times though and it makes the story maybe seem like it's meandering at times. Game is running on t...
Yes, definitely. Get it. I held out for a long time and now just played it. Everything is superb. If you're one of those who leave a negative review, you got some real issues with standards. Story, direction, fluid gameplay, bugless, visuals, simple but thought provoking puzzles. It's great. FYI, I suck at puzzles but found em easy. I love that it keeps the flow and momentum going. Highly recommended, even if not on sale. I mean you'll probably blow your money on a 2 hour movie at a cinema or cigarettes, or pizza. I dunno. Might as well spend it here.
Um really liking this game so far. Graphics, voice acting, and sound are really good and the game runs flawlessly. Support for knuckles is not that great but works as of (31/12-2019) Hopefully they will ad better support with an update.
I loved the graphics and the interaction with the game. It worked well on my Quest 2 with the link cable to my Alienware pc too. What I didn't like was that I couldn't turn around and would be sideways and backwards in the game so always had to turn my head, couldn't turn in circles and scan areas with the Quest 2 controllers or at least I haven't figured out how.
