About This Game

NOW UPDATED TO VERSION 1.0

Welcome to Subverse: The science fiction roleplaying experience developed for the discerning adult by a team of filthy apex perverts.

MORE SMUT THAN EVER

No still CG bullshit here, it’s all animated and it’s all voiced! The experienced cocksmiths at StudioFOW bring you over 239 different unlockable sex scenes that you can mix and match to your heart’s content. On top of that there’s more than 40 minutes of cinematic porn added in version 1.0 to enjoy as your reward for completing your crew’s devotion quests.

Sex scenes include a wide variety of tastes such as:

Male on Female, Female on Female, Futa on Female, Xeno on Female, Solo, Toys, Orgies and even Gangbangs!

Love our VA’s and can’t get enough? Receive intimate audiotapes from your girls as you gain their loyalty and respect!

Want to be your very own porn baron? Use Killi’s Gallery to set up your own poses and perfect your photography skills with a variety of unlockable backgrounds!

ROGUE’S GALLERY OF BADASS BABES

There are no good girls in Subverse. These are the baddest babes in the Prodigium galaxy, complete with exceptional combat potential and drop-dead gorgeous looks. With 9 charming characters to recruit, romance and rail there’s something for everyone!

Fight alongside them in space combat missions or deploy them on the ground to wreak havoc on the tyrannical Imperium.

Gain their admiration over the course of your 30+ hour adventure and unlock new “devotion” quests close to their hearts.

Equip them with sexy outfits and customize their looks.

CINEMATIC STORYTELLING

Experience a fully-voiced, galaxy-spanning space opera full of surreal moments. Told via a combination of our dynamic story system, hours of pre-rendered cinematics and even some flashback slides – the main quest can easily take you 20 hours to complete.

In addition to the main storyline, you can spend even more time on side-gigs and building up your force of insurgents to destabilize the Imperium’s grip on the populace.

The real engine of the revolution is the mysterious hacker known as Fortune, who helps you uncover a galactic conspiracy as you expand your dossier of commanders and save their planets.

ACTUAL GAMEPLAY

What the fuck? Gameplay in my porn? Yes! For those that are just here for ass and titties, there are skip options to get to the good stuff as well.

Watch your flagship, the Mary Celeste, evolve throughout the game as you find upgrades and complete planet events.

The heart of the ship is your BFF android DEMI, who grows alongside you and bestows passive bonuses on all your crewmates.

Science Officer Dr. Lily mutates bio-mechanical soldiers in her lab, so you can deploy them on the ground to aid the revolution.

As you accumulate even more resources for the revolution, spend them on upgrading your starfighter to engage in intense , retro SHMUP-style action.

With over 20 unique boss fights in the game, there’s always a challenge to be found just around the corner.

I'm going to get hated for this review. First, let me say the voice acting is good. And if you're a fan of the voice actors, like me, then enjoy. With that said, here comes the cons. I really wanted to like this game, however, It seems like this game suffers from too many cooks in the kitchen. It tries to be a bunch of things at once taht don't mesh, instead of a sex game. Lots of dialogue, too many jokes that get annoying too fast. You're expecting a sex game, it's not it. The sfms are short and feel so vanilla and aren't part of the story, and even if they were, the game would already be crowded with everything else it tries to be. The main character is too silly and stupid to have those girls follow him on the ship, so their connection with him seems arbitrary. The main character is supposed to be like deadpool, but deadpool is funny. The game play is a polished version of games you already find on your mobile. The whole "everything in one package" doesn't work. There's ...

First game I've ever bought that is like this. I can respect that they are making this more than just a basic smut game. Quality graphics too.

A ton of awful gameplay and trash dialog aren't what I want in my smut. No native controller support to easily play on the Steam Deck is also a buzz kill. There is a ton of PLOT but almost all of them are just short looping scenes. My favorite girl Sova also had one of the lowest amount of scenes which was even worse. Huntress was a waste of space. Better luck next time?

The gameplay, what little there is, is broken. Trying to skip the excessive dialogue leads to fatal error crashes (files verified). If you don't manage to destroy the unreasonably tanky boss before a timer runs out, you can't retry because the game is broken and only loads back to a fail state, forcing a restart of the entire boring mission. Actual combat is horribly repetitive with everything seeming to happen in 3 segments. The animations seemed good though, shame the rest is so dreadful. Got this on sale and still feel disappointed.

I played for the "plot" but to this game's credit it has a plot. The story is very juvenile with dialogue and jokes, but it has lore and a story shaped by said lore. It even fills one plot hole with these pervy robots with a computer virus by explaining how they came to be instead of just being something that exists. Speaking about holes, there are waifus who join your crew each chapter and you use them for space or ground combat. Lot of rinse and repeat with the two of them. I appreciate the mercy rule the game has that if you die/fail 3 times you can just skip combat. To unlock all the adult content, you have to do one of the types of combat as you explore the galaxy planet by planet and use whichever waifu you want to level up your affection with. Each has a special power and some I found particularly helpful with certain enemies. Each waifu has a loyalty mission and at the end is a cutscene h scene and they are largely very good. Most scenes with your waifus aren't interwoven wit...

I'm sure that there's an audience for this game. I am sure of that. I am not that audience. With that admission let's dive into this review and no. I did not like it. Problem one: The gameplay. 3/10 The shmup side is a twin stick shooter and it's bad. It controls fine but the difficulty is inconsistent and not particularly engaging (to the extent that I discovered the 3 loss pity mechanic because I fell asleep during the sections). The music is unpleasant as is the main lead's voice so I turned all the audio off and it significantly improved my experience. Then there's the tactical section... honestly this did not need to be here alongside the shmup, and I think having them both is detrimental to the game's pacing. Now I'm not going to do a deeper dive into the game than I have in the time I've given this thing but if you can get past all the piled up terrible decisions you might find something to enjoy, and I did. The sex scenes. These scenes can make for a good break in a game, but ...

I like the game a lot. Going to list some negatives and positives, starting with negatives because I want the final takeaway to be positive. Also, the negatives are more wordy than the positives because I'm trying to give Devs more specific feedback. Negative: -I wish there was NSFW content directly tied to combat. Victory/Defeat/random event. -Combat can get kinda repetitive after a while. Maybe more abilities on leveling up would help? -Ground combat feels bad later in the game. Feels like a race against time because generally speaking both enemies and allies are squishy (except bosses). -Space combat is okay. Wasn't a huge fan but that's a preference thing and not a problem with the game. -I was hoping for more outfits. Minor spoiler: most characters have 4 outfits total and 2 are generic so basically you have default and devotion quest outfit. Some have several recolors, which is meh. -Meta humor was largely fine except for a few moments where it felt like the dev had an a...
