The Antidote

It took a little while to figure out where this game was going. At first it looked like it might be some kind of surreal, artsy experimental-type thing in disguise. Turns out it really is just a little point-and-click adventure with a farcical story. Not in the same vein as Space Quest, but in a contemporary, self-aware sort of style that wants to be funny but doesn't want to look like it's trying too hard. It feels like a story that a couple of stoned college sophomores would come up with in their dorm room. Maybe it's not surprising, then, that the end result is all over the place. At least they tried something different with the look and concept; I'll give them that. The dialogue is good for a few chuckles here and there and parts of it do flow fairly well. The Book of Pointless Facts was a pretty clever way of dispensing hints. More often than not, though, it's like an object lesson in the common pitfalls of this sort of game. Didn't make sense, the plot was weak and characters were robotic and full of dad jokes. The only good thing in the game was the main menu's song, but even then it feels like this game didn't deserve such cool music. Almost impossible to finish without a guide.

Okay, so I just finished this game after a nice grind and what a game this is. I loved how you can see the effort that has been put into this game since it has some really awesome (and challenging) puzzles in here. The story also got to me with a very nice plot-twist in the end! I would definitely recommend this game if you are looking for a very well created point 'n click game with good puzzles, a lot of humour and a great storyline!

Just finished the game and quite liked it. In the first case you start with no clue on the whole story, but as you progress the game becomes more fun (also a lot of inside jokes help to make it more fun to keep playing). I love puzzle games so I recommend this game to others who also like similar games. tip: it took me quite some effort and random clicking before I found out I could combine items and what to do with them. I recommend giving more clue's about this ;-) Thumbs up for an original and suprising story!
