I usually love visual novels, investigations, crime scenes and other "whodunnit" type of stories. I wanted to love this game, as I find that Korean game studios have very interesting stories and refreshing game mechanics. Alas, this game was such an utter waste of time and a snooze fest. I tried to stick to it but the reveals were really the worst I've ever read in a game, with deus ex machina and obvious character mechanics that gave the plot away. Add to this conversations that are dragging, repeating the same things over and over again, obvious twists and constant translation issues. The translation in English became such a problem that the wrong names are placed in some conversations (including when you finally learn the truth), sentences or words repeat themselves, and the end reveals that fall entirely flat or completely out of place. I never had a game that bored me so much, to the point that i would constantly feel sleepy while reading it and hope it would end soon. I was h...

User Reviews
BURIED STARS is a gripping visual novel that successfully blends a tense psychological thriller with modern social commentary, set against the backdrop of a televised reality survival show gone horribly wrong. Developed by LINE Games and Studio LARGO, this Korean-developed title breaks away from the typical expectations of the genre by intertwining an emotionally complex narrative with a compelling murder mystery, layered character development, and a branching system that makes every choice feel significant. For fans of narrative-heavy games, BURIED STARS offers a refreshing and thought-provoking experience that thrives on moral ambiguity and high-stakes tension. The story begins with the live finale of a popular reality show, where five remaining contestants—each harboring personal secrets and burdens—are trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed stage. What initially seems like a survival scenario quickly escalates into a murder mystery when one of the participants is found dead...
very enjoyable story and voice acting, recommend at least playing through blind the first time and maybe second time, then get a walkthrough to gather the additional ends like
"true end" and the "secret end"
:) Only annoying thing was that you couldn't skip already read text and stop on new, which is a standard feature of VNs since forever.
I dont like the way the game forces a specific ending on your first playthrough. I'm a finish once and be done with it to know the story kind of player. But this one, I have to say, is bad when such an ending is forced upon you no matter what your choices are. Although I dont mind a bit of linear storytelling myself, 1/5 of the way through the story suddenly the game is on rails until its all done. All gameplay is just gone. It relies on you to be up for another playthrough, just in case you're not frustrated by the first one. I rarely play say bad things about games but this one just compels me to let people know to not play this.I dont recommend this game.
