Let me say it straight off the bat: This is an amazing game. This is what the shadowrun games made by Hairbrained wished they were (ironically, some of the original creators of shadowrun made those games...) in most gameplay aspects. Of course, the writing setting and non gameplay parts of those games are definitely better than CK:F, but gameplay is the most important part. I do not feel like going in too much depth about the gameplay, but everything this game does hits on all cylinders, from the structure, the tactical play, the complexity, the thematic integration, all excellent stuff. You should try it for yourself. We need more Cyberpunk games! (the genre not the specific IP) What I want to point out though, is that the Devs, Trese Brothres, have a long history of extremely dedicated support for their games, which can be seen in past hit games from them like Star Traders and Templar Battleforce. The game is constantly receiving updates and should be considered in quite active d...

About This Game
A modern tactical RPG with some of our favorite elements: gridless movement, environmental cover, specialized overwatch, initiative manipulation and more. Independent enemy unit AI opens up a world of creative stealth options; pick them off one by one, stage diversions, or use advanced tech to sneak right by them.
Combat is challenging and in-depth. Powerful abilities, tricked out weapons, and smart coordination can give you an edge, but once you go loud expect things to escalate. Move fast and avoid getting pinned down to accomplish your objectives and get out alive.

The ecosystem has collapsed. Only 112 cities remain, sheltering under massive domes or inside of mountains. Artificial consciousness has been created, killed, and outlawed at a global level. Megacorporations, nanotech and quantum computing have radically altered the world… and your character is one of the few equipped to handle it.

Choose your jobs to build your rep without taking on too much heat. Work your network of underworld contacts to trade favors, pay bribes, and gain advantages before taking on a heist. Plan your path through multi-stage missions, and commit your crew to legwork that could reveal new opportunities or threats.

Balance factions, favors, reputation and more. Rivals, fixers, arms dealers and corporate big shots... who you work for, who you fail or betray, all of it can open and close opportunities for you. Watch your heat, and try to make sure more people owe you than the other way around.

Extensive talent trees, more than 40 multiclass combinations, weapon modding, safehouse upgrades, evolving character traits and more combine to give players endless ways to build a crew that can take on any job. Rich visual customization (hair, outfits, faces, eyes, tattoos, facial hair, accessories, color options for everything, and more) & naming lets you personalize any of your characters.

Your squad members evolve as you play, shaped by your choices, their injuries, interactions, even their presence on some missions. Inspired by years of tabletop RPGs, our custom-built Casting Director story engine uses all this information to choose and place squad members and NPCs into world events and storylines it selects for you on each playthrough. Who will end up a betrayer, a friend in need, or the villain this time? Create new squads, discover new stories, and watch how your choices make it all fit together.

Trese Brothers Games makes deep, highly-replayable strategy games & RPGs. I never leave reviews but this game is a very special exception. This is the single best tactics game I've ever played, and I've played many. Cyber Knights: Flashpoint has a silly name and even sillier graphics but those are the only downsides I've had with this game. I went into this game just wanting to scratch that cyberpunk itch that a 17th playthrough of 2077 just could scratch, and I found the most systems-driven, non-grid based, tactical RPG to date. The whole premise is essentially you're starting an edgerunner crew by getting your hands on a max level augment to start with, sorta like the Edgerunners anime but instead of a sandevistan you get to be a living quantum computer. You build contacts, build your crew, take jobs, lose and gain rep, backstab fixers and corps and gangs, etc The absolute Machiavellian scheming and you can do would make GRRM blush. I find myself fretting over every backstab or completed deal. The depth of the classes, multi-classing, cybernetic u...
Not for me, even as a fan of XCOM. I don't think this is a bad game at all - from what I played- but I personally don't feel like it's that fun, and the £25 price point isn't reflected in the quality of the first 90 minutes; enough time for me to know that I couldn't justify the purchase. The combat is quite slow-paced, and the attack animations are pretty underwhelming. Defeating enemies doesn't grant XP either, rather, mission completion does. The character models also aren't anything special and the first mission is basically a heist escape, great on paper, but it doesn't feel well executed. Personally, not to my taste, but it might be to yours if you like mechanically-similar games.
well, it could be a nice game (or still hopefully will be in the future), but the major downside is that there is no final ending or major history or a plot. After about 30 missions you'll see that they are repetitive and becoming boring...
This game has the potential to be better than most TTRPGs of the same genre. The sci-fi elements, the almost grim dark feel of a shadow run verse. This game atmosphere, the little stories between the characters as you recruit them, the amount of early access character customization options. I love all the little intricate systems on top of one another that overlap and interact with one another that genuinely make this game novel. However, I will, NEVER RECOMMEND this game while it is in early access. XCOM may have 5% chances to miss that's actually 100%. But there are too many small glitches, inconsistencies and random B's in combat that just tank the entire experience. Some of them don't even make sense. 1) Why cant you shoot cameras? This would've been an easy implementation. Shoot camera to take it out personally, +1 Sec level/Turn for the entire mission. Seems like a no brainer. 2) Why does "Snap" Movement come on every time you reload? 3) What do the actual skulls mean? Ser...
This is a great compromise between the streamlined XCOM2 and the overstuffed sandbox that is Troubleshooter. I'm enjoying this a lot. You get a whole bunch of systems to sink your teeth into and interact with. And since its by the same guys that made StarTraders, you can also be sure that the game is going to stay supported and expanded for a long time. Good cyberpunk vibes, too. It's not quite Syndicate or Shadowrun, but about as close as we got. Oh right, speaking of Shadowrun... special shoutout to CyberKnights being the first game that managed to make matrix hacking a thing that integrates seamless into the rest of the tactical game, not a thing you do completely separately. Shadowrun never managed to figure that one out (not even in the TTRPG...)
One the few Xcom-like games that is actually just as good as Xcom, would totally recommend if you like Xcom and ESPECIALLY if you wanted more out the stealth system in Xcom 2.
Amazing game for the price point, and the developers are putting in a continuous effort to improve the game.
Invisible Inc + XCOM = The Cyberpunk/Shadowrun game you've always wanted. I loved the mobile cyber knights from several decades back and it's only gotten better with moving to PC.
Low budget, high passion. I want to play more but the devs keep on updating the game to add more content that makes me wanna see their full visions through. So I'll just leave this review instead.
