useful app for beginners
(from my review for let's learn hiragana, adapted for kana because they're virtually the same game) if you're fluent in katakana, this is a very easy sub hour 100%! slicer is very fun, 3 match takes the most time. bought for less than $3 aud, and i think it works well enough for that price
Great tool for practicing Japanese Katakana words.
So i am recommending the game because i think it is worth what i payed for it which was 1,50 euro's, but honestly the game is;nt that great at teaching you the system. i think I have seen everything the game has to offer, which is not enough to say that the game forfilled it's purpose. It does a good job of teaching the things it teaches you, but once you have learned the characters there is no follow up. Which wouldn't be so bad if the system was complete. I tried to write my own name and quickly noticed that certain sounds (like the Z and B) were not included. to clarify you can write Z and B, but you do this to take other characters and add a " kinda to the character. (Example: Zu = ズ while Su = ス ) The game doesn't even mention this and it's kinda annoying since because of this I am now can't read half the characters that could appear in a sentence. Still if you want to start of and just casually learn some characters for a small amount of money then this is a pretty good b...
Makes Learning a ton easier especially if you are one to take physical notes to study on your own time and come back and study with this game as well. in one day i was able to memorize and implement in to my notes and it actually made sense it also is very good for anyone on a budget and trying to learn {please note this was all only with the first 13 levels that i am commenting on}
"Let's Learn Japanese! Katakana" has been a legitimate tool for me so far and does exactly what the title implies. What you are buying is not only mini-games to keep the learner engaged, but also a very simple and descriptive learning tool that can help anyone to read katakana. In only a few hours, I am already starting to read katakana much easier, and I plan to continue to use this game as a means to practice.

Just as helpful and convenient for me as the Hiragana ver.
Short Review
I bought this game and a bunch of other steam Japanese learning games a while ago due to having moved there for some time for work. I have been mostly using duolingo to learn the language and books. Especially the bird help me keep practicing and learning it. What i want to say is that i both tried learning either hiragana or katakana via either this program or using duolingo. Not surprising the latter just worked way much better. The teaching games itself range from being interestening and nice change of pace towards why does this exist? Hitting the right letter via a fruit ninja style game is a good concept to both learning the reading of the romaji and japanese version of it. Then there are games like memory, or a match 3. The whole games and overlay of the whole program feels like something an IT student would do for a project or grade in a course. Not something to ask money for and try to teach people something. With half of the games being rather ...
