Doesn't start

this was my first game for the ps3 in 2007. spent all my money on the system that i had nothing left over for a "good" video game so i bought this one from the $20 bin at best buy. and was extremely surprised to find how rich it actually is. never did get to pass it so i decided to buy it for the steam deck and the memories. did both the 1.2 patch and the cpu patch to get it running.

I was pleasantly surprised by TimeShift. At the time it was released, due to the stiff competition it faced, it was considered an average, or even under-average game. However, it has been a pretty entertaining experience. Solid gameplay, surprisingly competent graphics with very good gore and ragdoll system which make the combat very enjoyable, some simple puzzles and platforming requiring the use of the time manipulation powers you get, overall a pretty solid experience. It's also just about as long as a linear single player shooter should be. That being said, it is still a middleware title and it does show at times. The game is a bit janky, it does not always run all that well even on a PC that's way better than anything that was available on its release, the Steam version is broken and you do need to at least apply a 1.2 patch (available on pc gaming wiki), and in some cases also use a modded exe file (also on pc gaming wiki), the voiceacting, characters, story - basically all fo t...
