I wanted to preface this review by saying I am physically unable to play a large majority of VR games due to nausea. This is not the case with Anderson. Anderson has a plethora of options for movement and its incredibly smooth and playable. The graphics are fantastic and stable (no visual bugs or artifacting). The game doesn't hold your hand but provides adequate indicators to keep you progressing. This has been a wonderful mystery/puzzle experience and I'm glad to have been able to play it. The game is priced fairly for the length of game play and I hope the developer succeeds and puts out more content!

The game is a puzzle kinda escape the room game with a few rooms, and a few things to do in each room. Voice acting is pretty good, puzzles are satisfactory and the story is intriguing. But is pretty buggy, i had to uninstall and reinstall to get the initial computer to "power on" i thought i had to power the monitor but it was a glitch. This is probably my main issue, as i dont know if im supposed to be able to do something or is the game bugged? i felt this a few times during my playthrough, and in a puzzle game, it kinda ruins it. Performance was pretty bad, 60fps on low with a 1080 and a 3600, and it still had dips. Graphics arent bad, but they are pretty basic, and i had to go to LOW quality settings where the textures where pretty ugly looking. Also, the overall environment i felt was way too dark like you cant see your hands dark. You can grabpull items, you point at something, and it comes to your hand, but this causes anything in the way to get knocked off, i had to resta...
After fiddling around with making controller bindings for WMR I was finally able to play the game, so lets (me) talk about it. Also for WMR users as of right now theres no official support for it but you can still play it, I've uploaded my configuration to the community bindings (albeit lazy config on my part but I think it mostly works fine) VR setup: Samsung HMD Odyssey + (WMR) Firstly for an early access game I am genuinely surprised on how playable it is despite many things being rough and unpolished (more on that in a bit). At first bat when you launch it you're dropped into this sort of tutorial area with some story thing at the end, very straight-forward (sitting or standing, how to grab/select etc) then you go to the main game after. Right now I don't know much about the plot so I'm not gonna comment on that. The atmosphere here is pretty dark, both visually and storywise (I think). Music and ambience suit each other nicely, in other words you feel completely immersed which...
Anderson is a pretty good VR puzzle game. I had a lot of fun with this game, however, it is not without its faults. The graphics and Sound design are pretty good. Voice acting wasn't professional grade, but it seems like they tried. The puzzles are fun, but not very hard. Not being hard is fine by me. Only got stuck a couple times, but even then it wasn't for a frustratingly long time. The puzzles take place in several areas each being like a mini escape room. The story wasn't too deep, but I liked it. It clicked with me (I don't want to give anything away), Really, the only problem were the bugs. None of the bugs I ran into were game-breaking, however, one towards the end held me up for awhile. On that note, the loading screens, when one transitions between areas, are very shaky, which could cause problems for some, I imagine. Once loaded into the area, however, the performance seemed solid.
ANDERSON isn't the most original of games, but from what I've played, it's very well executed, especially so for an early access game. I've seen some gripes about performance in previous reviews, but it runs just as I require on my 8700k, 1070 Ti, 32GB of RAM and original VIVE. It's a little dark in some spots, but otherwise the textures and modelling is really good. I obviously haven't played much, but the tutorials are good and enjoyable to work through. However, the tutorial kind of drops you right in, and while tutorials that hold your hand are super annoying, I do feel it could be slightly more explanatory. There are also some issues with collision, but nothing game breaking. The sound is also pretty good, especially with the voice acting. I would recommend this game to other people.
Really solid VR experience. Everything feels right and more than anything the vibe in the game is coming together very well. You can tell the developers care more than just having one go from point A to point B. They have added a lot of detail to each environment to give it a very particular mood.
Anderson has so much potential... It's a nice short game with some interesting puzzles. The story is interesting and engaging and what it lacks in length it makes up for in entertainment. Worth the price of admission for sure. I cant wait to see what this team brings to the gaming community in the future!
The performance is really bad. Game feels clunky and lackluster
Maybe a little rough around the edges, but a fun ride all the way through. Good puzzles, cool environment, good voice acting, and I love that the devs have actually been updating the game. Note that the game isn't finished yet but I'm excited to see what comes next! :)
As a first game from these independent developers, it's a fun puzzle VR game. The sound design is awesome, too. I highly recommend you enjoy this short and fun VR game. I can't wait to see what else the developers come up with!
