About This Game

VR ONLY!, MUST HAVE A VR HEADSET AND MOTION CONTROLLERS TO PLAY

Warning! This game is not intended for VR beginners. You will need to have some VR experience and understand the intricacies of VR. Also, note that the game only features a smooth locomotion mode and there is no teleport!

Your main role is to be the leader and command the tank. However, don't let that stop you from jumping into the driver, gunner or loader seats and take charge. Sometimes, if you need something done right, you got to do it yourself!

Full freedom of movement

Immersive shell handling

Drive with realism

Take a break from driving

Just a short play, right after purchasing and installing this. Love it, so far! I had to get used to the idea of "free roaming" throughout the vehicle, but it really reminded me of my time decades ago as a Bradley M2/M3 armored crewman (Cavalry Scout) in the US Army. While you can teleport from the menu to the different stations, dragging yourself inside to the different stations is quite fun and immersive! I get less banged up VR than what I remember it was like in real life. Took me a little time to get used to the driver station, as I couldn't figure out the throttle, until I saw the side handle to my right. Too bad it's hard with this model of control (depending exclusively on VR controllers) to implement foot throttle and brake functions. Perhaps a button/trigger mapping? Having not ever crewed a tank, it was kind of fun playing around with being a loader. I'm not sure how practical that would be, because it took me a while to change ammunition types! I can only compare this with ...

DON'T BUY THE GAME. Armored Front is apparently dead and seems we have been scammed. It seems that on Apr 4, in the discord group, the developer left this message: "Hi, the progress has been a little slow with this project. However, I have been doing a lot of testing last couple of months including some multiplayer with Unity's new multiplayer solution. Things haven't been going all that great with it though because it is very new and I didn't feel that it is ready yet, perhaps in a year it would be. I am not sure how long I want to keep the game on early access but I will have to rethink/design the project over if I were to do this, including dropping some physics interaction aspect -this is what I am leaning towards. From all the feedback I have gotten so far it seems vast majority do not care much for physic and they want predictable, smooth control. I would also make to fully playable without a VR headset. I don't think it could support quest natively though, not without decreasin...

I hope things will change because I want this game to succeed. It could be great but right now it's too rough. Even for early access it can't be recommended. Wonky physics and hand tracking make everything too hard. Shells bounce out of the gun when you're loading. Using controls is too unreliable while at the same time knocking them unintentionally is too easy. I hope the problems can be dealt with but right now even the bare bones content is too clumsy and unreliable.

Being a single-player VR tank game makes this a one of a kind at the moment, this alone makes it an amazing experience. Nothing quite compares to the scale that VR provides for genres like this. The game is a joy when things are going as they should, rolling across the terrain in the tank is incredibly enjoyable on it's own. The Pak40 is also very fun to use, although it takes ages to move it between the targets at such a close range. They could probably do with being moved further away from the gun on the firing range. However, the game does have a few very irritating aspects that I feel are more down to poor choice as apposed to early development. Firstly, adding physics to all intractable controls can be very frustrating. Particularly the turret traverse and gun elevation controls in the turret, it makes acquiring a target take longer than necessary made hitting a target on the move very difficult. I do find it useful in some situations however, when using the grip on rotational o...

After fixing an issue which caused my HP Reverb G2 to crash the game while starting (fast cooperating DEV!) I got a chance to look around. I am impressed! Keeping in mind that this is early access the graphics look promising and I instantly got the feeling of the monstrous size of the Tiger tank. The hand controllers work as shown in de video. I am able to use my hands to operate the tank and load shells into the cannon. Will be coming back to see this game develop. Still looking for the correct way to fire both the tank gun and the PAK.

As a tank enthusiast, its a great game! Great attention to detail! Looking forward to seeing what the updates will bring and the end game after the early access period is over!

Had potential but it hasn't been updated in over 2 years now. Sad that it ended up as just another EA where the devs just took the money and ran.

I have been waiting for this game forever and here it is. What a trip to command a tiger H1! while the controls can be a bit confusing at first moving in and around the tank is easier than expected, although i'm not one to critique games i believe that maybe a control to lock the player in place when in the gunner or loaders position would be beneficial to game play, this is because while in the loaders position, while loading rounds into the breech you can accidentally move your player entity gradually with each round loaded moving you around the loaders position, but other than that i believe that this game deserves my first review as its impressed me. To the DEV team, amazing work!

Not quite a game yet. some sandboxes where you can play around with tank controls. It's very detail but hard to control at the moment. It's in a good position to get better but seems a little ambitious.
