About This Game

Everpath is a roguelite action RPG set in the world of Northbarrow, the game procedural generation system ensures that each run is unique.

Procedural generation
The game dungeon system is based on great games like Binding of Isaac and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Enemies encounters
While exploring the world of Northbarrow and unveiling the causes of the sudden enemies appearances in the area you will face plenty of different enemies with different styles plus a chance of facing empowered magic or elite enemies. And epic boss fights await at the end of the last floor of each new area.

Loot and gear
You will be able to use over 200 random generated items to face your challenges.

Attack speed, extra damage, critical hit chance, fire damage, freeze chance, movement speed, block chance, all make for multiple gear combinations.

Permanent and temporary stat increasing items, offensive and defensive scrolls, risk-reward trinkets, bombs and alchemy concoctions.

Gameplay styles
Join the ranks of the Northbarrow army fighting as a melee or ranged characters, separated in four classes, each class has a distinct playstyle and unique items, further customize your gameplay style choosing one of eight (plus 4 unlock-able) class specialization, and shape your path while leveling up by choosing one of many class perks. This will ensure plenty of combinations to make your run the way you like it.

Exploration and secrets
It's not all about slashing and hacking your way though waves of enemies but find some of the common and more rare special encounters, fellow members of the Northbarrow Army (hopefully still alive) and even some of the more, stranger, citizens of the world.
Rogue-lite on Ice
Everpath is an Early Access rogue-lite game from solo dev, Pixel Accountant. I found out about this game on r/indiegaming and figured I’d throw $4 at it to support the developer, I went in with fairly low expectations and I’ve actually quite enjoyed my time with it so far. It’s fairly basic right now, but it’s a good foundation and I’m looking forward to seeing how it grows.
Positives:

The art in this game is fantastic. This is definitely some of the better pixel art I’ve seen, and it’s really quite impressive to find in a low-budget game. I particularly like how the trees look.
The music is also great, and compliments the art very well. I think it creates a nice fantasy vibe that really makes me feel like I’m exploring some part of Middle Earth, or something similar to that at least.
There are four classes in the game, well technically three since one doesn’t seem to be playable yet. I’ve mainly been playin...

Everpath: A Pixel art roguelite has too many issues for me to get behind right now. The artwork is fantastic, but nearly everything else needs a good bit of work. For starters, the movement feels like you are on ice. Yes, I've heard this is going to be worked on - but getting movement to feel right and work right isn't a simple thing. We'll see. Next, there is no controller support right now, and I find WASD plus the number keys to be a chore. You have to push the number keys quickly in the heat of battle, which leaves me wrestling more with controls than monsters. The combat system is overly simple, and is mostly an exercise in spam clicking. Most of my time was spent kiting and circling around enemies. This is a product of small one screen arenas. Again, the artwork and animations are remarkable. I do hope more assets are planned to be added, though. The first three levels were exactly the same, and there really wasn't much variation within them, either. The pro...

This roguelite is only $4 in early access so you should have realistic expectations. There are plenty of things for the developer to work on, but the game is serviceable. The developer helped with a screen problem within 10 minutes of leaving a negative review, hence I am doing a positive revision. Everpath has 4 playable characters including the knight, scout, light infantry and a sorceress (which you have to unlock). Each character has 2 unique abilities, additionally to having a different form of dash or auto-attack. There are a few passive bonuses that you can unlock by gaining the levels, including permanent stat boosts with some consumable items. The game also has a loot system with randomized features; it's still kinda basic but the game is in early access. You can also choose between several starting bonuses, some of which can be unlocked playing the game. The map is randomly generated, but I would like to see more "risk vs reward" elements, such sacrificing a stat for a stat a...

Found this game on 9gag. Seems pretty fun for what little I played, only a couple of hours, played only as 2 of the 4 characters, you can pick between different traits, and then explore the map that changes every time you die. What I really loved the most was the general aesthetic and graphical part. Didn't have any big issues, one enemy got stuck behind a tree thou and didn't attack me but I could kill him Full release edit: Really really cool additions, loving the new character

I usually enjoy games like these, but this time, i enjoyed it more than usual. The pixelart is magnificent, the gameplay is fun, and the music is good. What I would like to see added is more enemies on each floor, it becomes quite repetetive to be honest. I'd also like to see more weapon models. Also more playable characters, more skills and abailities. There are some things to fix and add, and the game as it is right now is found to be very enjoyable! Good work mate, I would love to see more from you!

In short: Everpath is a charming game. Really like the artwork, the music, and how excited the developer has been about this game throughout early access. I think it's well worth the asking price. With four different characters and playstyles to choose from, there's a good bit of replay value, and it's great to pick up when you've only got a little time. Just a heads up, I noticed that some reviews still mention "ice skating," or "sliding movement," also "no saves," but none of those are a thing anymore. The developer already addressed them - several of them very early on, but it doesn't look like the negative reviewers could be bothered to alter their reviews. Going into more detail: I find it's just difficult enough without making me want to pull my hair out - but it's a close thing. Died within minutes on my first go, and had a lot of trouble with the melee classes which the Developer is in the process of fine tuning. Either the Pathfinder Scout, or Sorcerer are good starting choi...

The difficulty is not properly scaled and the game feels unbalanced by the third act where the fireball traps and the boss can kill your character in one shot.

The game as it stand is very poorly optimized. Many users including myself have posted on the community hub about major lag issues and constant screen flickering. The game runs at 5 frames per second for some. The developer hasnt addressed the issue and it doesnt look like they plan to. I myself have not been able to get a full hours worth of gameplay despite purchasing this game months ago. Buy at your own risk.

Really glad I found this gem. + Pixel art is fantastic and oozes Dark Souls whilst still keeping its own charm. + The game has a moderate difficulty curve. + The music is sensational! - Requires some polish with regards to collision detection.
